All other things being equal, what is the minimum percentage increase in TC that would convince you to jump ship to another company?

Depends on the longer term prospects of the other company and how that fits into your larger objectives. While I don’t think anyone wants to take a step backwards in TC, I’d be willing to accept “less” then some others if the opportunity was right, allowed me to diversify my experience, and perhaps provided longer term opportunities that would not otherwise be achievable in the current role.

Currently, I love my current company, team, and work. It would probably take at least 30% for me to jump somewhere else.

Probably 20%.

Hey guys, rather basic bordering on dumb question. In case of Change of Status, is there any circumstance in which it would be necessary to get a stamping done at a foreign embassy? I am more than half way into my first 3 year term and I haven't flown abroad even once, mostly thanks to covid.

How hard is everyone pushing their corporate clients to authorize nonresident assignees whose only 2020 US compensation was the value of their 2019 tax preparation?
My clients are pushing back on it this year, and I can't say I blame them. If I were in their shoes, I'd rather take the risk of not filing than the expense of filing again. From my own point of view, I don't really want to spend my time on such returns, either, even if the revenue and easy return are nice.

I know I am significantly underpaid in my current position and that the law firm I would transition to pays much more on average. Looking to gain an understanding of Demand Gen Manager (marketing) roles and typical salaries. I have 7+ years of experience but also have a very nontraditional background so it seems hard to be considered for director level roles and above.

If anyone has insight into standard salaries for this type of role I’d appreciate the insight. Currently making 100k with stellar benefits.

Happy Wednesday!!!!

I’m currently a Recruitment Consultant at an RPO with 4.5 YOE in Toronto. I received a salary raise last year. Recently I had another conversation with my manager for a comp raise. They was able to speak with their higher ups. Unfortunately, I got to know that they wouldn’t be able to increase my pay because of the economy. I’ve been working on heavy req loads and multi projects. But they are signing me up for a leadership program with a potential raise next year. Thoughts?

What is the como like for. Senior Wealth Manager at Goldman in NY , VP level . Thanks

I don't take the insurance through the company either. Currently no 401K match program available.

Hi guys, so a friend of mine has been head hunted for a job as a designer position for a interior design company. His current job is a good position which puts him on track to be creative director in 2 years. His current job is a great role, loves what he does but he’s not being paid as much as he should and he’s pretty curious about this other job offer. He’s thinking of going for a meeting with the other company. What kind of questions do you think should be asked in the meeting?

I’m afraid of getting a lowball offer since 1. they obviously know my current salary and 2. I’d be new at this particular role, although I meet qualifications. Any advice if that’s the case?

Currently going through some negations on an internal role. I’m currently at 88k and they offered me 100k for a position that requires a lot more work. Do you guys think it’s easier to land a higher salary when applying externally rather than internally? Also this is for a territory sales management role. They stated 120k+ is extremely high for that role. What do you guys think? Playing the game?

Have people received inflationary raises? My dad received a letter stating that they’re giving him a 6.5% raise + a one time lump sum of $750 bc of inflation, retroactive to July 1st. Kind of feel like my company is being shady because I work in CRE & we do raises + bonuses in February which was when I was planning to ask for an inflationary raise. But I feel like a lot of companies have done this without having their employees ask?

Q for HR folks! For companies who have offices in US and Canada, how easy would it be for American HR team to set up a role & compensation via the Canadian office for a Canadian remote worker? Would be a lot of work? But i know companies like Meta and Spotify do do this.

I'm Canadian and applied to a US remote role. Canadians don't need a visa for this. One of the ways would be to use Canadian entity's hr/payroll services. They showed keen interested but waned since finding out I'm Canadian.

Any suggestions on how to leverage for a leveling of my current salary and role which I have been told is in the works but I have not seen any sort of movement to give me confidence that it will happen?
