All you people complaining about salary, what’s your level and pay and why do you think you deserve more?

Yep hit the nail on the head. We also get bonuses on top of the salary but it’s typically a fraction of what overtime would be. To be available 24/7 and work ungodly hours basically all waking hours of everyday including weekends that is where complaining about salary comes from. When we interview for these jobs we are told a number of expected hours to work per week. 40 to 55 hours most likely covers what most people were told. So if you treat the number you are told versus the reality of the hours your work that’s where people think we are underserved. Working holidays or PTO again having overtime pay in situations like those would make it more worth it.

Sad

Partner 1 million + We all want more (or most of us anyway, its human nature) But this is an incredibly lucrative profession and I likely cant make more doing anything else. In fact it would be incredibly tough to make more doing something else. One more reason PA is an awesome profession!

Yeah D1 - so many 30 year olds making millions a year in technology!

I make a great salary for working 2000 hours a year. I do not make a great salary for working 2600+ per year

likefunny

i t hink most people complain not the base, but the hours put in without OT…thats well underpaid

like

The turnover rate being so high tells me that people can easily get more in the market

likesmart

Sure - if you just need warm bodies it is easy. If you want people who produce quality work they aren’t as easily replaced

Senior, $78k. I think I deserve more because my peers are leaving for offers of $115k +. Also, I just interviewed with a company and they are offering $120k. If I get the job I'm outta here ✌️I work way too many hours to be that drastically underpaid.

like

Nobody in their right mind would begrudge someone who leaves for 50%. Go get it!!

Love any post that starts that “All you people”.....I can already tell the OP is going to be judgmental and pissy.

I love you too

Big 4 in southeast - $73k base. Just doesn’t seem worth it for the hours/stress that comes with it unless you make partner one day.

like

You’re right

I get 80k, industry offers come in at 90-95k

like

I make $110k, could probably get $130k elsewhere, but the flexibility saves me a ton in childcare so it pays for itself.

like

Assuming you mean ‘what flexibility,’ the flexibility that allows me to work whatever on-site schedule I choose for 45+ weeks of the year. My wife and I haven’t spent a dime on childcare and we have two kids under 5 because of her work schedule and my ability to be home on an ad hoc basis when needed.

Staff 2, 55k. Most peers are making 40-80% more.

like

I used to bitch and then I got a serious market adjustment (knew I was underpaid) this past year and now feel I’m at least on par with my peers.

I’m a 1st year senior making $60k. I would be so thrilled with $75k which is comparable to B4. Living in the middle of America has its downsides

140k as a 2nd year senior in a HCOL area with a masters/specialty group.

Wow what group?

Associate, $85K. Not complaining because I know I’m at the higher end if the pay band.

Yes advisory

I’m a fourth-year associate who just got an offer to go in house. My experience is in litigation but I’d be working on more corporate matters, which scares me. But I hate billables and firm culture and the in-house company is a huge company where you can make moves in once you’re there. My salary would be the same but I’d get better benefits and bonus opportunities in house. Plus I’m a mom and will have on-site childcare. Should I be scared that switching from litigation will be boring?
