TFW you actually get sick the day of the Super Bowl but know everyone's just going to think you're hungover if you don't make it to client site the next day
What is the first important question does a management consultant must ask in first client relationship meeting?
When it’s your second week on the project and the client is already asking if you’d accept a job offer from them 💁🏻♀️🙌
I’m considering starting a side business(non accounting/tax etc). ppl in the firm might potentially be my target client group. Is it against any firm policy to reach out to ppl in the firm as client?
Headed back to a client site for the first time since February 2020. What do people even wear anymore?! I feel like a kid playing dress up. Help.
I'm freelancing a fun project mostly for exposure (some $) but the way my client is treating me it's not even fun anymore and I'm not even sure I wanna be associated with the damn thing
I was rejected at Netflix right after passing the recruiter screening. The reason given is that they're looking for someone who has worked on longer-term projects. I worked on my last project for 2 years and have a 6 year project on my resume as well. I guess they don't like that I've been an independent consultant for the last four years and was on 4 projects during that time. Has anyone else encountered this kind of bias against independents working on shorter-term projects?
Let’s pretend we’re holding companies. I’ll start: No, we can’t hire an extra writer even though you’re clocking 70+ hours a week. BTW, our contract with your client caps billable hours per employee because they know we don’t pay overtime. Here’s a non-billable code you should start using for the rest of the year.
XPost: How do you appease the client when they call and ask when their tax returns are done and they want them done now but they are further down the queue of returns because they submitted their PBCs later than other clients who submitted their source docs on time?
Hi there, Do direct me if there is any opportunity in project management in supply chain & logistics operations management. I have around 10+ years of experience & looking for the change. Appreciate any leads
Good idea to accept a counter offer of 15% when over >50% of original project team has left in the last month?
Can we talk about those senior consultants that give you attitude when you propose them to embark in a project (with great follow up opportunities) and refuse because they think it is not fitting with their “career” plan and they want to “manage resources”? How do you deal with that ? TBH: I’m shocked with such attitudes. Which manager never had to work on content tbh?
Currently working at a small agency in Philly as a design team lead/ art director. I’m feeling unchallenged. Anyone have any opportunities they could introduce me to in the area? (Skill set includes 3D motion, AR/MX, creative direction, client facing experience)
McKinsey-my friend interning (Chi office) is having a really good time. Requested local project, has really good hours 9-6, and is basically breezing through it. Is this the norm? (I don't work there)
Best consulting terms that aren't actually a real word, used in a sentence. "We should robustify the project plan and executize our messaging."
Im in strategy at Accenture. Is there any chance they'll let me get staffed on a non-strategy project?
May not be the correct bowl, but: how much do chief of staff positions at Wayfair in Boston pay? I’ve always been curious what this position entails too
I’m contemplating leaving public accounting and have an offer on the table. For those who have made the jump, how often is a company’s initial compensation package offer their best and final offer? Is it assumed there will be some sort of negotiation?

I know Python, SQL, Tableau, some cloud technologies. What skills can I continue to learn to make myself more valuable as I try to exit consulting? Any recommendations on positions I should start applying to?
Given take home assignment after 30 mins interview with product director at c3.ai. AI based Bank customer churn system. Any advise thoughts or contacts that could help?

What are some strategies you used to explain the project and work experience you do during interviews? I have the issue where I know how to audit any account, I can teach others, but conveying that clearly in an interview is an odd challenge for me.
Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?
What do you do to make the work week suck less? Treat yourself in the middle of the week? Need ideas
Deloitte Digital folks: When‘s the best time to apply to junior roles? Only have a year of experience and every role on the career page now is for SCs/Ms, directors, or specific school hires.
Feeling stuck in my role, but unsure of my next move. Move agencies? Stick to social/PR? Acct mgmt? Get an MBA to become an eventual brand mgr? I’m so overwhelmed and feel like I have to specialize.
What should a first year manager expect as a salary in a small firm? Firm is less than 70 employees and in the southeast region.
Ladies—I am terrified of flying—particularly the parts where we are not over land and the parts where turbulence is really bad. I literally just sit on the plane, staring at the map on the tv screen, with anxiety. I’m supposed to be flying across the world on a 14-hour non-stop flight in 2 weeks. I grew up moving/traveling and therefore flying a ton but always hated it and was scared. I haven’t been on a plane since September of 2019 (due to covid and moving to the same city as family). Advice?
There’s a bird outside my window that sounds exactly like a Microsoft Teams Ping. I’m all for animals but this bird has got TO GO.
Help me pick. Corporate strategy at global FMCG, potential to exit into P&L ownership or equivalent role in 2-3 years. Equivalent to “head of”/director title. People are smart but no ego, and role would serve category/geo leaders as well as exco. 16% pay cut but a true 9-6 and industry-leading benefits. 75 min commute till Dec and then 30 min after new office. Head of strategy/innovation at midsize regional insurtech in “scaleup” mode. Potential to exit into major role in 2 years CONT
Has anyone started utilizing therapy to make sure that you’re in the happiest/most useful mindset in this demanding job? Do most firm’s insurance cover and will the firm know (worried about stigma)?
Hi SF community, Does SF offer RSU, signing bonus or counter offers for sales position offers? And would you recommend joining SF with a salary cut?
90% sure I’m about to be fired for sexual harassment (more detail in comments). Should I resign before I’m fired?
