Almost all of us have experienced some level of anxiety, depression and or insomnia over the past 2 months, myself included. Personally this was the first time I have dealt with these.

It's a different level of understanding and compassion when as a provider you can truthfully say, "I know how you are feeling."

The positive side to it all is that I think we can actually better relate to our patients who are going thru these disorders.

Headspace is offering free access until the end of the year for providers. These are difficult times. Take care of yourself first.

To be honest, I genuinely don't understand how other physicians made it through medical school and residency without experiencing these things. Are other people actually that well-adjusted? I'm 3 years out from residency and my wife is an intern, and we've both been through hell at every step, but just assumed it was basically the price everyone paid for a career in medicine...
