Already on the bench for 7 weeks and nothing on radar until Jan end .... when does the talent or HR meeting invite come?

@A2, you’re protected in your first year with the firm. Cannot be laid off for chargeability.

like

Same at D - first years don’t have a network so you’re not at fault for not being staffed. Plus you’re cheap... make sure you stay engaged, but you’ll be fine. Good lesson to learn though - NEVER roll off in October, November or December. When looking for roles, make sure you take that into consideration...

I am in the same boat. Waiting for it soon.

Probably after the holiday season. Enjoy while it lasts.

Hitting the bench by the end of the week, I heard it’s most likely to get brought on in January, at the earliest too, is this true?

Which firm? Do internal stuff? O

I wonder what happens utilization wise to people who sit too long on the bench. Based on the number of people asking on this bowl, there must be a ton of people who will not be hitting the target.

I'm getting two weeks. That's the min.

Awesome, enjoy the long break. I always try to stay on bench inDen-Jan to get a 2 Month Vacation

I think that logic is a bit skewed... yes, there are a lot of jobs out there, but none, other than working at McDs that you’ll get into in 2 weeks. If you want to find a great job out there, it’ll be a couple of months before you get in there...

Is severance linked to tenure or level? I will be happy if I get 8 weeks...

SA1 when did you leave?

How does this work for first yr analysts? Are we at risk for being laid off too or is chargeability less important in our case?

I have recruiters calling me.... I am telling them as soon as I get off project “bench” voluntary/involuntary I will chat

Phew....Thanks A3!

Funny I'm rolling off my project next November guess it's vacation and bench time :/

You can find work if you want it. Schedule 1:1 with important people in your Patrice, other areas that interest you, and peers to learn about opportunities. You are responsible for your career...learn to network. Talk to your resource managers and any partners you know and do anything!!! Someone needs your help somewhere and doesn’t know you exist.

Any EY folks know about what A3 and SM1 are saying? Asking for a friend

Op, why not talk to the recruiters. Start filling your pipeline.

Doing it S1 - but right now not desperate , so no one has come with a great job yet. So if get cut will collect severance and start new gig in worst case 2 weeks and best case 5 days..... it’s raining jobs out there

For those willing or bold enough to share: For EOY reporting are you bench marking against 2020 or 2019 or both? What about for projecting 2022? I’m torn looking at 2020 as an outlier or including both years to be more objective? We had a good year this year and it compares fine next to 2020 numbers. My thinking here is events impact our lead gen and revenue numbers and as we all know this year events slowly started up. Looking forward to 2022 having even more events 🤞 Hopefully no variants

Need advice for resigning while on bench. I already have a start date with the new employer. Should I do a traditional two week notice or give <=1 week notice instead? My goal is to not burn bridges, but I also don’t want to get let go on the spot since I have nothing to “wrap up” besides HR tasks. I’ve read on here that sometimes they will let you go day of and pay you out for two weeks but I don’t see why any firm would do that for somebody not currently performing billable work...
