Alright. I am very much so not an Excel genius; I have the Excel skills of your 90 year old grandma who just owns a Jitterbug. Im semi-tech savvy (young millennial), but I’m new to corporate after transitioning into my role from the classroom. Among some skills I know I need, understanding basic Excel functionality is the most immediate. Does anyone have any recommendations for a very novice look into Excel? Thank you in advance!

Second this. All of the WSP modules help with learning best practices and jumpstarting your excel usage. Then, as you get into your new role, i’d suggest approaching any project you have the time to with a genuine curiosity of how to use excel more efficiently and leverage google and excel forums for tips/tricks/solutions to your aspirational excel objectives. The best way to learn the program is to simply do

I used ExcelCEO was happy with it

You know for the short clips on TikTok xlninja wasn’t too bad. I even learned a few things. But I agree some of these course above.

I would also suggest focusing on learning pivot tables, vlookup, xlookup, index match, and if statements. I could make the argument that your basic needs will probably be met with those along with average, sum, sum product, conditional formatting, auto filters, and maybe a few others.

Learn how to name your ranges. That will the formula writing sooooooooooo much easier. It will let you jump across sheets to a particular range easily.

In addition to above resources, see if your employer has a Percipio account. You can earn certificates for free. Usually you will find a link on your learning and development portal.

Alison has some good stuff and they have an app (at least for android)

Left my first job after just shy of two years because I was bored. Have been at my current job for about half a year and it’s a great resume builder but an absolute horror story (long hours, unreasonable clients, tons of weekend work that’s not worth the pay). If I left in a few months, at the 10 month mark, would that significantly hurt my chances of getting a strong exit opportunity? I can’t imagine staying here for the full year but I don’t want to blow my chances at leaving for a cool job

RE has slowed down IMO. Would love to hear from others on what they’re seeing in RE. Please share your geographic market/firm size/relevant info.
