I loved SATC in high school/college but the older I’ve gotten the more out of touch it feels. Same with Emily and Paris. They are cute but... meh. I’m 34 now. I need dark sh!t. Give me more undoing 😂
Rising Star
The way I just screamed at this.😂.. 🗣More dark shit! I want another season of Sharp Objects!
After much thought placed in an attempt to avoid my deliverables, I have outlined the character development and plot I would need to enjoy a SATC reboot:
An arm washes ashore in Cabo. It’s believed to belong to Samantha. She recently married a younger woman and they were celebrating their honeymoon on a yacht. She was last seen slamming Xanax and Prosecco on the port bow. Did she fall overboard or is there foul play afoot? That’s what Carrie wants to know. She mulls this over. Samanthas new wife, a former adversary in the PR world, seems unshaken by the death as she has inherited Samanthas firm due to lack of a will. But in truth, Carrie may just need a distraction from her marital problems with Big who she suspects is having an affair with an intern who reminds us all of a younger Carrie. Has she let herself go? Sure! But weight gain is a side effect of the treatment for menopause. She spends her time investigating everyone around her as she struggles to attach herself to the body positive movement.
Miranda and Steve are bored. Bored with themselves and each other. They recently returned from a two week stay at a hedonistic wellness retreat in Peru where they took auhuaska every day. Steve is balding and Miranda has dreadlocks. Neither of them shave. She spends her her free time fighting with strangers on Vegan Anti-Vaxxer blogs. They are polyamorous now.
Charlotte hasn’t spoke to the gang in years but still considers them her best friends. She hasn’t had time to connect because her 16 year old daughter recently had a baby with a SoundCloud mumble rapper with a million followers on tik tok. She’s so wrapped up in what the people at her country club think about her being a grandmother at such a young age. She seeks comfort in a hypoallergenic dog that her children promised to take care of but have all but abandoned.
Can Carrie get the gang back together to solve the mystery behind Samantha’s sudden death?
Pro
We all know who’s going to solve the case, right? Stanford Blatch and Smith Jerrod!
Carrie is super pretentious and annoying, other friends divas but somewhat relatable
I liked Miranda the most followed by Samantha. Agree that Carrie was annoying and self centered. Don't get me started on Charlotte!!
Rising Star
They can keep it if Samantha Jones is not coming back.
Hard pass. Samantha was the Sex in sex in the city. Carrie is exasperating, especially in the movies.
Idk after 2020 and the first week of 2021, I need any form of stupid escapism I can get 😂
So true!!!! Glad I am not the only one, so uninspired and absolutely not enjoying working remote month after month after month...this winter does not help either.
Help! 😩😅
CanNOT wait

I’ll watch it but don’t have incredibly high expectations. I’m 46 so I can relate to their age and possibly where they are in life. Maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Side note. I saw a comment somewhere about casting Erika Girardi from RHOBH as a replacement for Samantha. I realize it was likely done in jest, but I didn’t hate the idea.
I just hope they kill her off. No one can play Samantha but Kim Cattrall.
Pro
I used to love watching reruns with my roommates in college, but now I can’t stand it
Chief
Im for it. I wish Kim was part of the series, her character was a major fact in the “sex” part of the city
I’ll watch it but I have very low expectations. I love the show and still rewatch it but the first movie was meh and the second movie was terrible. They didn’t do a great job of developing the characters’ stories after the show ended (and Carrie’s never developed much at all, which still annoys me).
I’m not sure how I feel ... I loved Will & Grace and was excited for that reboot, and it was ok, but ultimately made me feel nostalgic for the original and like nothing can ever truly compare. So I guess I’ll watch but probably won’t get too excited to be obsessed like I was in the golden years of SATC
Same here ( although never watched will and grace). I'll definitely watch but I'm wary. Especially without Samantha!
I’ve never seen the original show, would it be worth watching?
Cannot agree with everything she said. I rewatched it twice after moving to NY and I still relish every instance and joke plus keep discovering new ones
