Not many of us, I suspect. Consulting partners make good money, but even those of us who really enjoy cars mostly buy Porsches and BMWs rather than Ferraris or Bentleys.

When I was little, I thought about how one day when I had my own money, I’d be able to afford so much candy. I thought about money in terms of how many pieces of candy it was worth.
Some years later when I was not quite as little, but not yet grown, I thought of money in terms of how many video games it could buy.
As an adult, I buy rather few pieces of candy or video games even though I can afford a whole lot of both. Turns out that when you have plenty of money, you often don’t end up buying the stuff you thought you’d want when contemplating how neat it would be to have a lot of coin.
If I want a Ferrari or a Bentley, I can get one. Much like a massive pile of video games or a mountain of butterfingers, the money is available to me to get a hold of the car. And also like that mountain of butterfingers, I don’t particularly care to acquire the car.
Guys, if you’re taking 700-800k to the bank and have 20 years of savings I really don’t find it that shocking to be able to buy an ultra luxury car. I’m an SM and I drive a Porsche (though my wife earns bank too). I’m surprised there aren’t many car enthusiasts at the partner level.
Also, I object at the hypothesis that buying a luxury sports car equals to ego (which is what many are insinuating in this forum). Some folks just love cars and if you can afford one then why not?
Completely agree at not taking these to client site though.

If you live in the northeast, where are you gonna drive it? The Merritt?

Those are what we’d call “bad looks.”
I only know one person in the entire firm who has a Ferrari. Mostly BMWs, Audis, some Porsches. Lots of Tesla nowadays too. Most people who have them don’t talk about them I would bet.
That’s the one guy I had in mind
Don’t want to brag, but I drive a 2012 Hyundai Sonata 💁♂️
Baller.
Really have to be deeply insecure or compensating to have a supercar.
Free country, team :) I’m delighted you find value in them, even if I find them silly.

My boss had a mclaren - and he was never once seen driving it . His wife drove it around town . Others in the firm - an S class merc or equivalent was about the most I have seen . And if we had local clients , we would all have a second more modest car . Same with watches - most of us have a modest one we use when traveling for work .
Some (not all) Partners can afford whatever car they want - but I haven’t seen anyone who actually bought one
