One takeaway for me is that there are a lot of people thinking about mental health and looking for support. That quote “Be kind, for everyone is fighting a hard battle” comes to mind. Would it hurt my progression at the firm if I mental health leave as an associate? New hire exp associate so less than one year at the firm but not fresh out of college. It's not due to job-specific stress or burnout, I think I'm going to need to check into an inpatient or partial program in the near future. I almost did a few weeks ago because I basically couldn't function, but fortunately pulled through. I'm not doing that much better so thinking of what impact LOA may have before I need one.

When will mental health become a priority here? You give us this autonomy worksheet yet none of the prac leads respect this.

I’m a LCSW, have been working in mental health for 10 years, and have a job that enables HRSA to pay off my student loans. I really want to go back to medical school to be a psychiatrist. I’d like to pay my student loans off before taking on more debt but worry I will be way too old to go back since I already feel way too old at 38 to do it. Has anyone over the age of 35 gone back to med school? What were your challenges? Was it worth it?

It’s been 6 months since I last saw the love of my life 😔😔 My SO (of 5 years) and I have been stuck on opposite sides of the Atlantic with no certainty around whether we’ll see each other at all this year (or even next year) given Covid. I’m obviously thankful for my health and the fact that I still have a job where many have lost theirs, but it really hit me today how sad and hopeless this year has been for many of us.
