I was $225k TC last year as an SA, that’s probably a bit over average. Average is probably around $200k or so

Most projects come with some degree of discounts, but my effective bill rate was about 96% of our SA rate card for last year

What’s the average utilization at SA and manager level ? I’ve heard most people stay around 60-70%! Is it true ?

Honest question: why are YOE so important? I mean I have interviewed a guy who supposedly had 20+ years of experience but he was sooo bad during the interview. Same thing with people flashing their certifications. Know people getting certified after having exam dumps but knowing almost nothing about the subject.

Currently on a project that has nothing to do with me. I understand developing a new skill set but I have no past experience that aligns with the scope and deliverables of the project. I've spoken with the PM and they say I'm still the best fit. I think it's just due to the firm being understaffed. Time to talk to my direct to get off that project? Thoughts?

I just became manager to 2 people on my team. But no promotion, title change, or salary bump. They said I need to prove myself and it will be factored in during annual reviews. Is that typical or BS?

I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!

Why is it if the internet is down, computer or TV is acting up, it is my fault because I have a penis? I’m turning down a higher role with higher pay (12% higher) solely because the HR team has been extremely unhelpful throughout the decision making process. From not getting responses for weeks, to consistently receiving “I don’t know, let me follow up” then not receiving follow ups, and everything in between. All of the interviews leading up to the offer was great, but then red flags started popping up making me feel very uneasy joining this company. Have you ever denied an offer because of HR??
