Alvarez & Marsal PEPI - Do you usually charge actuals or are you capped at 40/week most of the time?

If you are doing diligence you usually charge anywhere from 24 to 40 hours average weekly based on 2 years working in the group; also it also depends on budget lot of diligence are fixed budget so getting more hours are less likely; finally you end up working more than that including weekends which screws up your personal life and time with kids… actively looking to move on; almost in final rounds of discussion.

Sorry for your experience. But how do you pad bonus by working weekends? In my experience we charge 50 hours capped Monday-Friday and weekend work isn’t usually billed unless an exception and agreed with client. I hate working weekends too but I’m young-ish and don’t mind sacrificing too much to build my career and wealth but won’t keep doing it forever

I heard within PEPI it’s over 90% right now

Capped. Projects usually sold at 40. Diligence requires me to eat hours, but integration planning work is the opposite. So it all evens out in the end

Thanks, so to get to 80% utilization, you’ve got to be staffed 42 weeks out of the year essentially?

50 for nearly anything in Europe. Occasionally eat hours but not always

Comment refers specifically to PEPI. RX more likely to charge actuals in my experience

Not capped if you’re staffed on some projects : e.g. working on a consumer retail group project while a PEPI person

Got it, but that project is probably sold at a higher discount?

Generally a project will get you 40-45 hrs/week, but there are times when I’ve had overlapping deals going on and been able to charge over 70 🤪

This is probably the first thread where I’ve seen people complaining about A&M. Usually it’s always about the big $$ at the end of year, great PE exit ops, great culture etc. Do you guys think it’s just the wfh situation that has drained you in last 12 months?

40-50. Typically 40 for assessment/ diligence.

45 charged or 45 worked?

How many hours are you working vs what’re you capped at? Also, can anyone elaborate on CFO services group or which one is more analytical/FP&A oriented? Considering a transfer :)

What’s the average utilization for you guys ? I was told it hovers around 50-60% for most. With such utilization the TC barely touches 200k

This feels like a low offer: Sr Software Engineer Base: $125k. Stock: $50k/4 years. Bonus 0-20%. I have 6 YOE.

Was approached by Accenture for a principal role. Any insight on comp? Base/total. Glassdoor gives a pretty wide range of 183-268 base...

Received a job offer to go client side the day I found out I am pregnant again. I know I qualify for mat leave, but am unsure if I tell them before I start. I have a history of first trimester loss.

Out of all MBBs which one has best mba reimbursement policy

Fellow 🐠 in MBB - there is a belief in a few consultants that being a part of MBB is the main goal at any cost. Being on the inside and having seen, through this application or your networks, what other firms do, do you think this belief is healthy? Would you consider your work to be just as enjoyable at another firm? If not, where do you think other firms fall shy of the MBB.

Looks like Genuine in Boston is hiring copywriters

Is it okay to follow up with HR about the salary negotiation progress? As I have not yet accepted the offer and it might expire.

Anyone in DT think that the utilization reports with everyone's name they send to all seniors and above is just a obnoxious shaming tactic ?

DCA to PDX with a 50min layover in Chicago. Too risky?

Has anyone here ever dropped out of graduate school? Is that something you mention in interviews or do you just completely erase it from your resume

I’ve had three interviews at places I should have gotten a job and I didn’t get any of them.. I have the skill set and the portfolio. I have no idea what companies are looking for ... any tips ?

How does the holiday weekend impact your quota? Still the same? It's still the same for me, which I feel is unfair.

Coming back to D in October after LOA. During that LOA, I was approached by other firms, and received 3 offers. I do want to stay at D but if they cant match the offers I received, I will leave (offers include 30% increase and a promotion). How should I go about this? Do I contact my coach and let him know that I would like to stay but received different offers and I want to know if Deloitte can match them?

Need to quit before year end so I can cash out this PTO. Otherwise I lose and leave anyway. Anyone thinking the same?

Discussion post: I feel almost all consulting firms are the same. Mbb, big 4 etc. if you are paid enough there is probably less wlb. If there is good wlb there is not much money. Can you single out a company that you can confidently say pays very well and also has good wlb and also has good opportunities etc.?

Has anyone made the transition from a B4 to MBB after not making it through in bschool? (I’d love to chat) I don’t have any specialized knowledge but looking to transition to strategy consulting from a more tech consulting role

Probably not suited for this bowl, anyone on H1B travelled to India from US recently? Does the ban conditions apply while re-entering if you alread have stamped visa? TIA

First job out of college so pardon my ignorance.. but are other jobs as high stakes as B4? Like the whole tier rating system, metrics tracking, snapshots.. I’m

Did anyone else starts out as an Instructional/Teaching Assistant/Paraprofessional before getting their own classroom? I was an IA last year & if I don’t get my own classroom this year I’ll be a Para
