So I’m about to start my interview process for Capital One next week for a Senior Financial Analyst position. My recruiter going give me a prep call on Friday but I wanted any advice that recruiters don’t tell you during the interview process. Also I wanted to ask if Capital One a decent place to work at. I will be working at the one in McLean Virginia if that helps.
I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. I have an interview with a recruiter at Guidehouse this week for a Technical Project Manager role. It seems to be focused in the government space and requires a security clearance. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?

I'm not an expert but I think huskies and German Shepherds are harder first time dogs. You can check the American Kennel Club's website though, they have a lot of information on specific breeds and whether they'll be a good fit.

My only caution to you is that your dog is going to get used to you being around all the time. Set up routines from the beginning that will work once you are back to work. Separation anxiety is real!
We got a rescue labeled lab and she’s most likely 0% lab lol. We don’t care, she the best dog in the world, but just be mindful of that if you are set on a breed and go the rescue puppy route (which i highly recommend,
but it’s not for everyone!)

What state are you in and I’ll give you some options? Odds are there’s is a humane rescue alliance by you. Dogs get pregnant. You will find puppies at local shelters.
some breeds like huskies are better for climates that get cold. i have a shepard chow rescue mix and live on the east coast. she’s happy in the fall and winter. spring is good but summer is really rough. they have a harder time regulating temps. i would suggest really looking at dogs that also aren’t as high strung for a first dog and ones that have shorter fur and or do well in your climate if you shave them in the summer. good luck. lots of great options.

From your list, golden is the easiest for first time dog owners. Others are either too stubborn or too hot for hot weather
Are you planning to buy or adopt(rescue)? Many rescues are mixed breed but they can generally guess the dominant or main breed responsible for most of the puppy’s genes. I have adopted three puppies in past 10 years, all large and high energy breed mixes (lab/Newfoundland ; German shepherd/gray wolf ; Collie/German shepherd). With any sporting or working dog they will need to have a “job” to keep busy and on track behavior wise. As long as you have the time and energy to commit to training and routine (daily) structured exercise, not just letting out loose in the yard all day, I think just about any breed can become a well adjusted pup. Out of the breeds you mentioned I might steer away from husky just because they are known to be a little more energetic, but again I’ve seen super well adjusted huskies too. Breed is not the sole determinant of disposition as long as you are involved and engaged as a pup parent! I highly recommend following zakgeorge on insta for initial training, and packleaderdogs on insta for some good dog psychology insights. Good luck!!!
Lab or golden are the best dogs overall. Very intelligent and extremely sweet. Both are high energy so having a decent backyard is a plus. Huskys can be tough and aren’t the brightest. They also aren’t meant for being in hot climates and can overheat pretty easily.
