A&M fishes - what’s the average utilization in TAG? Knowing obviously you make more as you charge more and also you don’t need 100% to make big bucks… Just more curious about if you have autonomy in the hours you like to put in.

Depends on the level. Yes, you do have a certain level autonomy.

In the US in total probably around 70%

Definitely with autonomy

Can you say no to certain deals at the manager/director level?

I say no to deals when I’m busy as an A/SA and never faced any backlash. I value my work life balance and directors I work with tend to do as well. Idk where the rumor of A&M being a sweat shop come from, definitely does not apply across the board 🤷🏻‍♀️

I work at A&M but haven’t updated my title on fishbowl.

EY1 not sure what you mean - say no to deals for what reason?

Think they mean if they are too busy already

Controversial question - what are some roles/functions to avoid at Google for ex-management consultants, in terms of potential under-utilization of skills and limited career progression? Common exit opps tend to be in StratOps, PMM, PgM/Solutions Consultant, roles in Sales; would anyone not recommend any of these roles?

hey, I joined Deloitte in June 2020 as an GPS SA analyst, I just staffed on internal project only providing me adjusted utilization. Now my standard util is 40 and my adjusted is 105... and this project last in another month... by then my standard util might be 20.. will my promotion be affected by this? My target promotion year on TOD is 2022. My manager said we might sell to client and extend this project in September but nothing guaranteed.

I’m struggling. I left an agency I liked last year due to growth limitations and since then I’ve worked at 2 different agencies and can’t seem to find my footing. The first one seemed like a good fit at first but then it turned out to not be the best place for me so I left. At my current agency I feel super undervalued. I’m always raising my hand and offering to help where I can and no matter what I do, I don’t feel utilized or valued or part of the team. It’s really taken a toll on my confidence

I have a Deloitte PDM offer. I’ve read about the positives/negatives and I’m so torn. When my recruiter says I’ll have “144 hours” of PTO (18 days), will I definitely still run into the utilization trap of not being able to take it? Are all projects 40-42 hr weekly caps? Third question: I’m new in the DC area, are PDMs invited to firm socials? Trying to make friends! Thanks in advance

like

In the last PDM town hall, they said they were going to lower utilization targets for those that work on projects with capped hours. For those people, have you seen your utilization target lowered? I haven’t seen shit change for me.
