Microagression tone deaf assumptions typical in f100 won't be the first or last. Get your coins play the game unplug the controller EOD and go home. This is what happens when black people keep begging for a seat at the table and they don't want us there

I could gaslight you as is the practice in this bowl and this app in general, but you’ll get enough of that from the males here. She was suggesting that you obviously can relate to impoverished communities because you are Black.

She didn’t suggest she assumed....she confidently assumed that you would be excited by what she was saying because you come from that. There was no doubt in her mind you are a rags to riches story.

OP trust your instincts. There are so many people here willing to tell you not to. Please listen to your inner voice. The interviewer may be a biased ass, you’ll come in contact with additional biased asses in your professional journey. If it suits your goals, take the role and milk those cows.

That would feel really weird to me

She assumed that would be a differentiator that would be attractive to you. So what? I wouldn’t get too wound up over it.

I don’t understand

Is there any reason she would think you would care about that? Do you have a background in social services or helping impoverished communities?

like

It made you feel more uncomfortable about their culture that she told you they do a lot of work in an area you would bring a valuable perspective? I guess if she just came out of her face with it I could see how it would be weird, but you asked the question which opened the door. I imagine social impact is an area that firms need to demonstrate involvement these days from a competitive standpoint. Might be a point of pride for them. It is for us.

I joined D's Workday practice as a C and been here ~8 months. I'm getting an offer from a lesser known practice with a 66% increase and a promo to SC. I currently love my job and team. The only motivation to jump is the money. If i stayed at D i'd prob get promoted next year and yet it wont match the salary i'm getting offered today. The money would allow me to reach my goals a lot faster, but is right to move just for the money? I know the work at the other firm will be less interesting.

This is a long shot but wondering if anyone has experienced this. This has never happened in previous years. Does it mean I missed a form using H&R block or is it related to the status change…?
