Got an offer for Electronic Arts (EA) Manager for North America (Canada) remote for 100k base CAD, 15 percent bonus and around low 40ks RSU (assuming it's USD). How much higher can the base be in Canada for EA for a Manager role? Base seems low even at 110 CAD. It's a corporate role so not anything technical or product related. Most or all the more senior managers are in the USA. Electronic Arts (EA)
Hi all,
I just came to realise Deutsche Bank has a fixed rule of max 30 to 35 % hike on fixed component and remaining 10 to 15% variable i.e. total 50% max hike you can ask for no matter how good, skilled you are.
Is it true?
(I got to know this when an HR called me for a Frontend developer role)

I can’t recommend much with that much info. If you’re a CS major you could be making $140k+200k vested stock straight out of UG at Amazon. But there are also CS majors making 50k/year
I am asking more for my field of security consulting (pentesting or red teaming specifically) vs just traditional CS jobs.
@OP do you have any certifications? OSCP/GPEN/OSCE? With OSCP + 2 years of experience you should at least be on $90K base at a majority of firms. So to answer your question, yes - I believe you are being underpaid.
Yeah mate you should be paid more for sure. Update your LinkedIn - I get hit up all the time
Depends...what city, what UG, what company. Most big D btas started at 72k as of last year
That doesn’t mean it can’t be used as a bartering chip when discussing pay, I am simply saying that if I moved from NYC to somewhere 3x cheaper, they aren’t going to dock my pay the next year.
Yeah dude pentesters can make more like at least 90k
I regularly lead engagements alone if that matters. It’s rare to use a scanner, as those can become too noisy on an engagement. But as for the RE aspect, that’s a different skill set that not everyone follows the path for.
If you’re actually doing pen tests (red/black teams) and 1-2 of the big certs, CISSP, OSCP, others listed above. Then sure you can start pulling down 150 after you’ve been doing 2 years of hands on pen testing. If you are doing mostly security compliance documentation and risk management then 110 max before you have 7-10 years experience.
Okay they are also typically no travel and if you value wfh my numbers are not indicative of what you’re going to make. Top tier pay typically doesn’t have WFH.
