Booking a trip to ATL in a few months. I have Alaska Air MVP Gold. They are phasing in their oneworld membership throughout 2021, but it’s not clear to me what benefit, if any, I’d get from booking an AA flight via AS’s website (ie “marketed as an Alaska flight, but operating as AA”). I think these would count as partner miles, not Alaska miles, even though it’s purchasedart AS. This would be my only non-Alaska flight so partner miles are less useful than Alaska miles. I have a colleague who quit her BigLaw job in NY for a BigLaw firm in LA. After relocating to LA and about a week before the start date, the new firm rescinded the offer for undisclosed reasons. It was not related to conflicts issues or anything with her background check. Those cleared before she moved to LA. Employees are at will, but are there promissory estoppel or other claims against this kind of behavior. Colleague not only left previous job as a mid-level but incurred debt while moving.

How do I become a faster writer? People like my writing skills and I am now getting asked to write substantive appellate and responsive briefs. The issue is that I’m struggling to meet deadlines. It takes me twenty minutes to write a single sentence. I spend too much time fixated on revising prose sentence by sentence, instead of just moving on and revising later.
