Yeah. I mean why do doctors even bother with that shit? They should just open someone up during surgery and raw dog it the whole time.
You don’t want to come in contact with the virus. If you touch a surface that could potentially have the virus then you need to wash your hands immediately. This is not an option if you’re out grocery shopping. So instead you wear disposable gloves, then take them off before you get in your car and use sanitizer. Then when you get home you sanitize you’re groceries, wash your hands again.
That’s why people wear gloves. It’s not pointless. And if you had an immunodeficiency you would be taking this precaution
Yes. You’re right. And if you’ve got gloves on, it makes you stop and think to yourself before you touch your face “oh right I have this sweaty ass glove on because there’s a pandemic and I shouldn’t touch my face.” Additionally it helps prevent you from unnecessarily getting body fluids on your hands that you might miss when washing your hands.

I do when i go to the grocery store. I change them out a few times, right after getting out of car and before getting in car again. Then in/out car again. I also Lysol and wipe everything in between- steering wheel, phone, keys etc. I don’t know wtf I’m doing, but the cleaning sequence seems to make sense in my head.... Also there’s something about touching everything with my bare hands that sends me into a state of anxiety.

Don’t. I use to be one of those ppl that followed the 3 second rule if food fell on the floor. I now feel like any wrong move could lead to me bringing home the virus- I’d rather go overboard every 2-3 weeks than just winging it and washing my hands 2 hours after getting groceries. I hope we don’t get PTSD from this and end up germaphobes the rest of our lives......
It reminds you to not touch your face
Wear a poncho
Wear gloves, get out car, go shopping, come back to car, throw away gloves, open car door, get home, wear new gloves, open house doors, sanitize all groceries before bringing in house, throw gloves, close door, shower and sanitize whole body
Not that I do any of those anyway 😂

Good tips, thanks!
Given how infrequently those same people change the gloves, it’s not. They would need to change the clubs, wash/sanitized their hands, and wipe down any credit cards, keys, etc they’ve handled with the gloves in order for wearing the gloves to be different
Maybe they swap them out regularly to cut down on washing their hands and having them dry out and crack maybe. I know some healthcare workers that are having this issue.

People are not so good at judging risk...
Logic is also a challenge.

I put one glove on and leave the other hand in my pocket. I touch community things with my glove (cart, keypad for CC) and personal things (CC, food I’m purchasing) with my bare clean hand. I take the glove off and throw it in the truck bed, load my car and leave.
So you’re leaving your dirty glove around for somebody else to touch? Or for it to touch somebody else’s food, via the cart it just touched?
Throw it in the trash at least you animal.
I’ve been saying this for years. Wearing gloves now or years ago and touching food doesn’t make it clean. Your gloves are only as clean as what you touch with them on!

I’ve been to grocery stores that ran out of wipes and sanitizer at the entrance, one store had someone in the front gently wipe the cart handle down for you (not thoroughly enough for my peace of mind)...so I think gloves make sense. I don’t have gloves so I elbow the cart inside and grab a plastic bag to place over the handle.
I don’t have gloves so wear a plastic bag on one hand in lieu of gloves... I use the plastic bagged hand to push the cart, open freezer doors at supermarkets, touching the self check out screen, etc. If I need to touch my phone or wallet I take my hand out of the plastic bag. And then hand sanitizer once I’m back inside my car. It’s easier to take hands in and out of plastic bags than gloves imo
I’ve been wondering the same thing! It’s pointless

I’ve started carrying around disinfectant wipes to open doors with when i leave my apartment building to walk. I wash my hands once I’m home but it helps me get in and out of the building with out directly touching anything. I only use gloves if i need to go foodshopping but throw them out and sanitize once I’m in my car

I wear them at the grocery store for now. It’s a reminder not to touch my face with my gross dirty hands
