I don’t have that experience with Four Roses but I’ve never been enamored but it like so many others. But then, again, I can’t stand Basil Hayden and most people swear by it so...to each his own. You can’t go wrong with Angel’s Envy or Maker’s Mark.

There are 10 different 4 🌹 recipes from 2 different mash bills (B- 35% rye and E- 20% rye) and 5 different yeasts. . I LOVE some and HATE the rest. Gotta find the ones that fit your taste. Or just not try to force it.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

In all seriousness I literally never have that experience with Four Roses and I have no idea how that’s happening to you, so I can’t offer any support.

Nah, I'm with you. I've never had a Four Roses I liked. Leaves more for them that like it, I guess.

I’ve only tried select and was not impressed at all and wouldn’t buy it again

I will send you a shipping label and help you clear space on your shelf. 😂

It's very unlikely but possible that you have just had bad barrels when trying the single barrel but you're the only person I've ever heard describe the SiB as harsh. If anything it's usually described as too smooth and not hot enough.

like

Interesting, possible I guess, but weird

If you bought bottles of it, at least you can use it to make Old Fashions at least that is what I would do).

like

I like there bottom line and love their single barrel. I don’t care for their small batch at all.

like

Four Roses Batch Select is really good.

We all like different things. I don’t drink Blantons. There are also expensive scotch I don’t drink. You have something you don’t like. Let it go. Don’t drink it.

Understandable, I love my Ardbeg but the heavy-peated Islays (Ardbeg in particular) are an acquired taste!

like

I’ve only had the $20 bottle and it’s gross.

Taste is personal - literally. The good news is that there are hundreds of whisk(e)us out there - you don’t have to like them all and certainly do t have to like something because other people do. Enjoy and move on

EY1 I agree with you. There is something about OPs tone that is annoying and clearly we see the same thing. OP. We understand you don’t like Four Roses. No one on the internet is going to be able to tell you why or change your mind. LOL

This is the only 4R that I like. The barrel strength ones

Barrel strength is just half the equation for me. I only like very specific recipes

Go try the cheapest on the shelf. It used to be the yellow label before they changed it.

Can’t decide between Cornell’s Metro vs. Americas EMBA program. They both seem to be great and offer an Cornell MBA upon graduation. Americas costs about 155k while the Metro NY costs 205k. Both programs are 60 credits in different formats. I can’t seem to understand the difference in price. I like the Americas program because of its flexibility (can attend from selected cities across the US so I would not be stuck in NY). I like the Metro NY for the in-person classroom environment.
