I just don’t wear it. We have freedom here in Texas so it’s a nice perk. We also follow data.
1. As originally thought; there is no point arguing with A1. The “cost” of wearing a mask is just too high for them vs. the value of the lives that act would save.
2. For folks who want real data on excess deaths; see below
TL;DR….there were hundreds of thousands (Texas alone likely had over 50k excess)

Rather than comment on the politics, how about trying to help OP? 😬
OP, I also get motion sickness pretty easily, with or without masks. Especially in Ubers and especially with air fresheners. I find the higher riding cars (like an SUV) much better than something like the typical Corolla, Civic, or Altima. I order the Select/Comfort/XL type to increase the chances of getting a bigger car/taller ride. Try rolling the window down, and taking a Dramamine or Bonine 30-60 min before getting in the car. Sit a little forward or straight in your seat rather than leaning back into the seat. Also agree with one of the other posts -- might want to see an ENT if this is happening regularly. You might also consider getting your eyesight checked, because sometimes that can give headaches or sense of motion sickness.

As I’ve gotten older I’ve gotten way more sensitive to motion sickness. It helps me to look out the front window and especially to avoid using screens when in a vehicle. Using a phone briefly can be ok; laptop is almost immediate barftown.

Personally, I put my concern for accidentally killing someone above my temporary, minor discomfort

Really not sure what to say about these folks who keep insisting they're 'following the science' when the science and scientists are telling them to do something they are refusing to do.
Nobody enjoys wearing a mask. Nobody likes it! Like, you are not alone here.
The difference between you and, say, Texas, is that you recognized there is a need to wear one.
The main reason to wear a mask is, simply. Not everyone is vaccinated yet.
Which means A) many people are still vulnerable, and B) relaxing mask rules will allow the selfish to not wear them with impunity.
Many people go “dur, I don’t care about those points, as long as I’m safe I’m not wearing a mask, it’s pointless.” Those people are incapable of seeing a bigger picture, selfish, and have learned nothing over the last year.
The entire point of pandemic rules is that they affect everybody, to make sure the problem is taken care of.

What type of mask are you wearing? Maybe something with a different material or fit could help
Yea try surgical. It’s way lighter. Fabric makes me feel claustrophobic but I’m totally fine in surgical!!
Thanks SVP1 😅
I took Dramamine and fell asleep on a ferry. Fortunately, I woke up maybe 15-20 minutes after we docked. This is why I share the warning on the “non-drowsy” version.
Agree with rolling down the window. Also, I've switched almost exclusively to disposable masks. They make me feel less claustrophobic and seal better around my nose so as to not fog up my glasses.
I have the same issue. Get those disposable masks. Loosen them up by stretching them. Put a tissue and then a mask on top.
The tissue really helps
The only thing I mind about my mask is I can smell my own breath.
Many professions wear masks all day long on the job, you’ll get used to it. I felt uncomfortable wearing it at first and now I don’t pay attention to it anymore.

I don’t believe in motion sickness from masks. I have extreme nausea (cars, planes, boats, subways)…and never got it from a mask, mask has helped keep the car fumes away which would trigger my sickness ( I also have asthma). The only time I was bothered was when I felt a panic attack coming on, and I breathed through it, if it was safe I would pull the mask under my nose to take deep breaths then put it back on within seconds. It’s mental, you can train yourself to the point you don’t notice it. As others mentioned, don’t flex the metal over the nose, leave it loose if you are vaccinated. BTW, my firm’s offices are so cold, the mask will feel nice.
Your prior statement was not phrased as being contingent on how someone is wearing the mask. If it IS a contingent statement, then no objection from my end…if it’s as broad based as it was phrased, my incredulity stands.
For perspective there are medical professionals wearing an n95 all day in the OR with full ppe, standing for hours at a time...
Yes!!!!!
I find it not only uncomfortable, but also harder to breathe.
(I’ve looked into the science, and there’s no justification for everyone to wear a mask. There are so many other things we should be doing at a population level first.)
A1, it’s really not.
I switched over to disposable and no longer have any issues. The best ones I’ve found are at Costco.
I find Air queen masks way more comfortable as they don’t touch your mouth directly
It’s literally clothing for your face
You might also try different combinations of masks. I use the evolvetogether mask under a KN95. The KN95 is more comfortable.
There are some essential oils that help with motion sickness… I want to say lemon? Try a few at home and see if any help. You can put a drop in the far point of the KN95.
