Sometimes I wonder where things went wrong in people’s lives that they become anti-fun. It’s not required that you dress up. In two weeks you won’t even remember people dressed up. Not sure why it matters

I mean... I 100% went to work dressed up as True from True and the Rainbow Kingdom and loved every second of it. I think to each their own, yeah? It's not like you're talking about it being required or frowned upon if you don't participate and it's literally just for one day. I seriously doubt it has a negative impact on productivity either, so I'm not sure what the problem is.
Do you have good health insurance? I hope so, because you need emergency surgery to have that stick from your a$$ removed.

The first firm I was at encouraged costumes and a first year associate dressed as a sexy cop. That was the last year of costumes at work.

Dude—what the hell? Why does this bother you so much? People like to have fun—you don’t have to dress up so chill out. I like to dress up and we have fun team contests for different categories of costume. Stay home those days to work if it bothers you that much.
People like to have some fun? It’s not all about working and being miserable everyday. It’s a team building exercise as well
