Personally, it makes me cringe as well, but unfortunately, people are fascinated by true crime and serial killers. At the end of the day, they knew it would be a hit and make lots of money. I won't be watching, though.
The show does not glorify Dahmer, but instead shines a light on his horrific actions and allows us to learn from them.
I don't think it is creepy at all that the Dahmer show has been successful. I think it is important for us to understand what drove Dahmer to commit such heinous crimes so that we can better identify and help those who may be suffering from similar issues.
No, I don't find it creepy how much success the Dahmer show has had. It's a true crime show and it's interesting to see what made Dahmer tick.
I don't think its creepy that it is getting all the success....I just thought the show was creepy in general. It legit gave me nightmares. I had to watch it all though and see how it ended.
You and I share the same sentiments. The fact that the families refused to take part in the writing process alone should have been enough of a sign to not go through with it. It irked me to no end when I saw people dressing up as him on Halloween.
I wouldn't necessarily agree. But what I do find creepy is the people who glorify Dahmer. I read what one victim had to say about the movie, he said (non-verbatim) that it re-traumatized him. But you know what's even creepier? People who dressed up as Dahmer for Halloween! I feel sick!
Absolutely horrible...I understand true crime is fascinating but there's something disturbing about how we're glorifying these murderers and giving them more fame and attention
Same here. I really don't understand why we have to put him on the spotlight after all the trauma he has cause to his victims and their families. It's all so distasteful to be completely honest.
I felt this way when it was released. I couldn't even get past the first episode. I don't know why our society is entertained by stories like this.
I know right? And other senseless persons try to imitate or impersonate him. Other make a tribute. Like what? Do they really follow the entire story?
