I have a field in excel that represents the GSID, that I want to concatenate to create a link. Example field GSID is 123-west and the link needs to be www.website/123_west.html for some reason using concatenate with left & right formulas to switch - to _ results in the field throwing an error. Anyone knows of a way to make this work?

Are you having a f****** laugh?
Don't think 5% is underpaid... Base might be a bit lower.. guess it boils down to what size deal fees and how active the office is
can’t imagine a shop where you make that much as analyst... y’all hiring ?
The deals I'm Workin on are smaller. I'll come upto about 140-160 this year which I believe is in line
New York City first year analysts at BB make $85 base + 60 in bonus. But we work 90 hour weeks. It sounds like you have an amazing deal in hours to comp ratio especially if your firm does well
Damn, hopefully we do well. Before I got here they completed a 300mm deal and 400mm deal but all I've seen are like 25-50mm so far. 4 live though so that's a plus
No, you’re not underpaid. And typical analysts make 0% of deal fees
On performance. I’m a VP and my bonus has zero correlation to any amount of revenue that is brought in on deals that I work on.
Assume you get one deal, $500mm size, 2% advisory fee, that’s $10mm. So you get 0.5mm, that’s pretty good... but if it’s no name boutique, you need to see deal flow and size trends
Lol no name boutiques don't do $500mm deals. They do like 20mm
We did 2 deals last year one for $400mm the other for $50mm. Got 4 deals on my plate right now in the $25-40mm range
seriously
Probably even less since firms (at least in SF and LA) raised pay
Btw, I'm also assuming your firm is fairly lean and top heavy (i.e. more analysts and fewer associates, even fewer VPs relative to MDs)
Only way I can see this working.. even then, MDs would need to be on point, w.r.t resource allocation across analysts given ANs are likely going to want to with on larger and higher prob deals
Lol it's two analysts a VP and one MD. He started the firm last year and knew base is low so gave the 5% deal fees thing. I joined a couple weeks ago from PWM.
