Does anyone have a way to help me learn and better understand gender issues? ( a good youtube video to watch- a PD link, anything. ).
Anyone have first hand experience working at Ryan, LLC? Pay/Culture/Leadership/Diversity etc..
Why does everyone preach DEI but fail to recognize that people also grow up in different backgrounds and socioeconomic classes? Increasing diversity in these elite firms also means that you will be at team dinners with people who didn’t grow up with well off parents and experiences living in the finer things in life or enjoying the same things outside of work - but not all teams are cognizant of that in their social conversations and can unintentionally make those ppl feel different. End rant.
Accenture, BCG, Deloitte & E&Y all signed up to be in the consortium for eliminating the gender pay gap. All the sudden I'm feeling the urge to switch firms!
Once, a M friend said "men are stronger than women, I could dominate you right now" and at the moment I didn't know what to say cause he was in fact bigger and stronger than me. But this is something that bothers me still... I think people in general, regardless of gender, have different abilities and it is not a matter of comparing but rather understanding how best to use them, for yourself and for the society. It pisses me off to know ppl can think like this, and he is actually a good friend

Another win for diversity!
I'm glad we're having these conversations about race, gender, wages, etc in an reasonable way that doesn't involve flagging posts. As a black female it's hard to ask coworkers directly what (contd)
Do men generally note how much of an impact gender bias can affect a woman’s career? Do you see it frequently? Do you see that we can work harder and more scrupulously than men and get passed over?
The best private school (best on ranking) in my area is an all girls school (K-12). What’s the pros/cons of sending my daughter to an all girls school? My wife and I both grew up outside of the US and have not experienced single gender schools. Looking for any thoughts /personal experiences. Thanks!
One of my favorite things about consulting is county of origin diversity. Can we do a quick poll here of various CoO represented. Put your flag and have the fellow nationals upvote!
Starting full time at McKinsey in November. Curious to know what it’s like for fellow gender non-conforming folk, as well as non-binary and trans folks at the firm (or as consultants in general!) Are there any trans/non binary people at your firm/office location, regardless of your firm? Just trying to gauge what kind of world I’m stepping into.
I’m interested in switching to diversity consulting or something tied to inclusion work. Any insight into what companies/types of roles I should be researching?
Hello, I am dying to know the average age and gender ( even non Binary) of people in this bowl. Just curious , I will start - Female 33Y
After reading many annual reports, I am really getting tired of the fact that female management board members are always HR. Often that’s the only female member. Gender equality has long way to go
I am currently unemployed but I am very curious about everyone’s company signature having she/her or he/him or they displayed. Are companies forcing people to write the pronouns you need to choose? I honestly never understood why somebody that wasn’t in the LGBTQ community would specify, and I know people are doing it to show support but if I started working again I don’t think I would want to put that in my signature. It seems political. What are your thoughts?
How do you all think remote working is influencing gender dynamics in your teams? I wonder if/how relying on virtual comms with no in-person interactions will help or hurt things.
Lol. Glad to see DE&I leadership at Disney is so diverse. https://www.cbr.com/disney-diversity-councils-bob-chapek-bob-iger/
My company did an analysis of the diversity of our outside counsel based on hours billed and spend. Women billed more than half the hours but were far less than half the spend 😒
Hard money loan for a buy, rehab rent project: 168k principal, 8% interest, 2.9% loan cost (4.8k) and 4 points (6.7k) The upfront cost seems a bit excessive to me or is this normal today?
Exited to an amazing 🦄 in Los Angeles with also an office in Atlanta. Our strategy team has 6 open roles that we are looking to fill. We have amazing culture and free lunch everyday. Message me!
Qualifying for elite status is like the myth of Sisyphus - we spend all year rolling our stone up the hill then it's back to the base. #notevengoldyet
End goal in PE career? Let’s say you make it to MD at UMM shop. How is comp compared to let’s say F500 C-suite? I’d imagine both to be 10 - 30M, but a cushier rise in F500. Am I wrong? Just trying to figure out this giant rush by so many colleagues to the buy-side
Anyone know anything about C-4 Analytics (Chicago specifically, but happen to hear from Boston peeps) Good clients, good work, good culture? I know they are less advertising but ...shot in the dark.
What was your favorite project and why? Team? Type of work? Location? *Don’t name clients obvi.
How do you guys focus on workpapers with all the gossip and just small chatter that goes on around us? I find it to be extremely distracting. I want to use headphones, but that looks bad to the client
What's the salary structure at Salesforce? Especially for PA. What are the other client facing tech roles at Salesforce for someone with 9 years of experience with Salesforce implementation.
So I am looking at data from Levels.fyi and the comp for Lyft devs is MASSIVE but I haven't seen any of it!
Currently SC at 90K with shitty yearly increases, if I were to jump companies, would it still be possible to out-scale gettin an MBA, take in consideration opportunity cost of 200K + 2 years no salary
Is anyone willing to share their hr budget per employee (excluding insurance/Heath benefits).
Hello Slalom Canada folks, Anyone willing to chat about Slalom's company culture and its niche/specialty here in Canada?
I understand that traditional vs. Roth 401k depends on tax bracket now vs. expected tax bracket in retirement. And of course there is the risk of changing tax laws. But what if you just don't know? Do you just split 50/50? Or once you're making over a certain amount, does it naturally make more sense to lean towards traditional? Not sure what other people do and what income level they make the shift to traditional, if at all.
If you knew you were getting promoted and you think your company will offer a 10% raise but the market rate is probably closer to 20-25% raise, how would you go about it?
Has anyone either been laid off or just switched from Big4 during covid to corporate? Was it difficult? did you still receive a raise? If so, how much?
I’m planning on asking for a raise for the first time in my career and I want to list out my accomplishments but I don’t want to seem cocky about it. (cont’d)
