Hi All,
Persistent Systems is giving 10% variable on gross annual CTC. HR says you would receive minimum 70% of variable pay every month and remaining 30% will credited once a year at the end.
Does anyone has idea on this? Can I believe this and include 70% variable in my take home

It’s really about what works for your feet since we’re all different. You should go to a running store and get fitted by an expert. From there they can recommend a few different pairs that would work for you. Chicago has Fleet Feet but other cities have similar stores. I need a lot of support and Nike’s can’t do it for me
ASICS kayanos
Brooks has been good to me
I’m sure dc does! Nike’s don’t do it for me either. Used to run in Frees 😂😂😂
There is a really nice running store in Georgetown. As soon as you cross the Bridge from Rosslyn. GO THERE!!! They will help you find the right shoe. They will watch you walk on a treadmill and do the foot print test thing.
Def would go to a running store and let them check your gate and foot strike. Good shoe brands are ASICS, Brooks or New Balance. Try foam rolling your shins and using a lacrosse ball to roll out your feet.
If you get last year’s model they’re a little less than $100 but very worth it
Any running stores in dc area I should check out?
I got trail running shoes at the REI in Tyson’s that I love - they were expensive, but the first shoes I’ve been able to run more than a mile or two without getting terrible shin splints in. Salomon sense rides, if you wanna give em a shot.
It’s older but this may help you: https://washington.cbslocal.com/2017/07/18/best-places-to-buy-running-shoes-in-washington-dc/amp/
Agree with Asics and Brooks, especially ones for flat-footed runners. Fyi- I'm flat-footed and run 10-15 miles a week. No issues.
Agree with getting the right shoes, although those could still be Nike, but just a different model. Also google „good form running“ - better form = less injury risk.
I run 40+ miles a week
Agreed - leave it to the experts. For me, Nike’s worked for shin splints but it doesn’t for everyone. Will also say mine gets worse if I suddenly increase mileage or take some time off and come back, so would watch out for stress on your body.
You need to stretch your calves a lot - all time - to help too, get the best otc orthotics step something (can’t recall name) - they are a game changer
Pacers or PR running are great DC area running stores
Rotate your shoes as well... should have at least 2 pair and be diligent about mileage on them for when they need replacing. Also STRETCH A LOT!! It’s something that is sometimes overlooked or not given enough time post workouts but is actually so so very important in maintaining your body.
Love my Mizunos for distance/ road running :)
I actually tried tons of shoes like Brooks and Hokas but the Nike Pegasus did it for me. They are less clunky but cushioned to perfection.
ASICS kayanos changed my life! Thanks all
