Leaving on a one way ticket to South America for....I dunno. Any tips on getting remote writing gigs while away? I don't need the money but it's definitely helpful to keep working a bit here & there.
Unlikely there will be a lot of people that feel this way - but who else feels they were prepared for WFH and to handle these turbulent times socially and economically? And taking all this in stride.🤚🏼
Since we’ve been WFH, has anyone upgraded their webcam and microphone (e.g., using a Blue Yeti mic instead of a headphone mic). Was it worth it?
On my notice period and bench for the next couple of weeks. With wfh I'm basically doing whatever I want (running, reading, swimming, day trips nearby) during work hours. Can't travel abroad cos UK visa is being issued. Any activities/places I should visit in London that get jam packed during the weekend?
it’s four years into work from home.. …. your boss still doesn’t wear headphones or mute themselves on calls … . … you’re trying to present your work….. another day, another battle with what you said two seconds ago
Hello everyone, my organisation is hiring for the position of Assistant Manager for Digital Marketing domain. Required experience is 6-7 years minimum. Full time WFH being offered with minimal office visits when necessary. Anyone interested, please DM
Back in the day, I did my own PR, sales & marketing for whatever business idea I was running with at the time. What’s a good remote sales opportunity I can do anywhere in the world that won’t be painful or too high touch? Where I can use my social & business skills (markets, law, cloud, publishing, media, logistics, algos, social media, books, ebooks, design, podcasting, marketing, press release writing, voiceover, journalism) to earn a few extra shillings?
So who wants to continue WFH forever?! Think that’ll be an option? Curious how this will play out in a few months.
Does anyone know of any website that lets you filter in-house positions by those who allow remote work? I’m assuming this does not exist but wanted to see if any of y’all have any thoughts.
Watching my condo become spotless while I’m WFH just makes me so happy! Love having a cleaner, she organizes, picks up, does dishes and laundry too! can’t wait to sit in silence in my clean home! 😍
Anyone have the nectar mattress and think it's good? All the work from home and not in a hotel bed is making me realize I need a new mattress
Reposting here: Are there any remote volunteering opportunities that allow me to utilize my tech skillset? I'd like to help out in a way where I'd provide the most value.
Those who moved from biglaw to in-house at a large corporation, have you successfully managed to negotiate working entirely remote?
Anyone from EY WFH outside the US? Thinking of doing it for a few days, but not sure if I should tell my team since firm policy states we must be in the country.
Anyone just getting tired of their partner on a whole new level with WFH? I feel like we are getting into spats more, I'm getting more resentful of the lack of even workloads/effort, and to top it all off these tensions are literally invading my personal space! Not looking for advice really. Just wondering if anyone else is feeling partner fatigue more now than the Before Times.
Any 🐠 looking for a place to stay in Boston this winter? I am taking advantage of 100% remote work and going to Utah. Looking to rent out my furnished 2 BR 2Bath apartment, downtown- water view of the harbor next to the aquarium. $4k a month (renting at cost)
Best WFH chairs? Prefer lumbar support
When calculating your wage level, can you put in your home Location for work location if you're WFH?
When the industry said they were committed to hiring black people for senior roles they mean CHIEF PEOPLE OFFICER, CHIEF DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION and various other made up titles that make no sense!?? GTFOH .....
Does Littler have a reputation for ghosting candidates after the interview process without informing them that the firm has moved on to hire someone else? Had call-back interview and heard nothing after more than two weeks. Sent a customary and cordial “follow up email” to the hiring committee. Still, no reply after two days? Weird, or typical?
Is the exit to PE/HF from IB still worth it? I'm basing this decision solely on total comp / hours worked.
COVID has me planning my next car purchase. Currently have a VW but want a bigger car with 4WD. Deciding between Sierra 1500 (or new F150) or Jeep Grand Cherokee. Any recommendations on nice looking trucks/SUVs?
I’m sore. BF and I WFH all last week and let’s just say coffee breaks got on the wild side. Let’s see what this week holds..
I've been passed up for promotion. I know that if my mental health had been better this past year, I probably would have been promoted. Spent too many days just trying to survive rather than excel. 😡
Public tech company securities/corporare counsel offer received Base $230k No equity or bonus What should I push for in negotiations?
As a 20+ year lawyer with no big law experience (smaller and mid size firms plus government and in house experience), would a BigLaw firm even consider me? Perhaps an of counsel position? Even a senior associate?
Saw the job posting for EY FDD associate role. The post requires 1+ YOE in FDD. Would they consider hiring auditors as well?
Tips for submitting a counter offer? I just an in industry offer thats a promotion but base pay is 15% below my current salary and I'm getting a significant raise very soon.
If anyone is in privacy / incident response, I’d love to compare comp stats. I joined my firm as a complete newbie and didn’t have lots of leverage but now that I have a successful year under my belt, I want to be as prepared as possible going into reviews.
Hello. Who has Principal as their 401k administrator? What funds did you all pick? Not into target date funds and want to be aggressive even in my 40s. TIA!
Normal to feel like you only work a couple hours a week? Client has off fridays and leaves early daily and SOW is lax. Not really sure what I’m learning, most days I order team lunch and book some
Working as a Principal at Slalom Consulting, 2 YOE, strictly Salesforce. My prior 10+ YOE is tech consulting/digital mktg outside of Salesforce. I'm happy with comp, projects, coworkers, etc. Salesforce is recruiting me for a solution architect role in CSG. After talking to 2 recruiters, job sounds identical to my current role. Outside of equity, is there a compelling reason to consider Salesforce? I think the equity would be nice but travel also seems more likely postCovid. Thanks!
