Most likely getting fired, tips on how to find a job ASAP? I made a pretty big mistake that required supplemental filings with government offices to fix (missed some items when reviewing/comparing long lists of things across 20-30 years). It’s fixable and the client isn’t really getting hurt by this (worst case signing gets delayed), but my anxiety is telling me to prepare for the worst. Can I ask for extra time at the firm to find a new job (so I wasn’t “fired”)? Or should I go for severance?

I have been going on interviews and noticed 2 department heads already assume I was laid off or fired due to a 4 months gap. I explained I left my last role due to short term health issues that have been resolved. Not even sure how to respond when they assume. Any advise? Thanks!

What steps next? Working at a faang company, & there’s signs of layoffs on the horizon/potential eradication of our entire 10 person team. 6 members of my team have scheduled scattered days of vacation in the upcoming months and all signs point to them interviewing, my boss included.
