The comms team focuses on approved comms for the business, either internal or external.
Offer sounds low to me. Then again, when I last spoke to a recruiter about comp, the number was significantly below what I was making.
No cash bonus for year 1 and 2?
And my experience is it’s a great opportunity if you want to build your own career here. A lot of upside once you are in.
I haven’t been here long enough to have a solid opinion. I took a level decrease but did receive a pay increase.
I look at it like I’m in a good spot for 2 years, not worried about RSU’s and then we will see. A lot of good opportunity here though.
The thing to keep in mind with Amazon stock is that you have to stay for 4 years to get the big payouts. With 26 RSUs, you will get 1.3 on your first anniversary, 3.9 on your second, and 5.2 twice a year in your 3rd and 4th years. Your first two years is really all about the salary and not the stock comp.
140 base, and 20 and 18 bonuses appear low for an L6? 15 YOE
For perspective, in operations as an L6 (easily less technical than a comm strategy role) I received a 130k base 36k Y1 and 24k Y2 sign bonuses and 28 RSUs when they were valued at 3200. I would say with current stock market value you’re being lowballed and especially on the 3rd/4th years.
Big banks don’t mean anything in tech most of the time, at least from my experience and others coming from banking that I know.
Now it’s up to you to see how much you want it. Are you wanting to get out of banking and pivot into tech? If so, I think you should take it. If you’re not dying in banking, maybe look for something else. But I think that’s not a bad comp for communications.
Looking to get out of banking. But I like big companies, this Amazon and the med tech that I applied for. The latter has bigger offer.

This is a great offer man. Take it quickly. There are 1000 people behind you that are dying to work at Amazon. Recruiter may pull it unless you call tomorrow and accept.
DONT WASTE THIS OPPORTUNITY.
