Everyone is working remotely now through June. They are not considering long term WFH like Microsoft and have said that once things return to normal (whenever and whatever that is), US people will need to work in one of the HQ locations (Seattle or Northern VA) unless there is an exception which they made sound hard to get. I am not entirely sure what is behind that policy because we had people working in other locations and remotely pre-COVID. If there isn’t a widespread vaccine and way to work safely in the offices by June, we won’t go back to work yet. I am sure of that. However, with recent news, that seems possible now.

Seeking advice on how to choose between a mid tier technical accounting advisory offer and Big 4 audit. Worked in audit at a local firm and wanted a bigger platform. Would love to switch to advisory to be more well rounded. Mid tier advisory offers higher salary but also thinking big 4 has a better platform and maybe better exit opportunities in the long run? Insights please.

I have a standing offer with Accenture (AFS). Due to coronavirus, the recruiter told me they are pausing staffing of external people like myself while they take care of internal people on the bench. My recruiter said he would touch base monthly during covid, but usually I’m the one to reach out to him. We haven’t spoken since mid March, so should I reach out? I totally understand if they’re still in the same position as before and nothing changed since mid March in terms of hiring.

Is this an accurate distinction? High performer: Exceeds expectations for role and level. Operating above level. Mid/average performer: meets expectations. Gets the job done but nothing above and beyond. Low performer: does not meet expectations for role and level.

Attorneys with the firm often send firm-wide emails advising of in house openings with a corporate client, and solicit recommendations or resumes of qualified candidates. Usually the client contact is a hiring manager for the position. How do I show interest without completely shooting myself in the foot? While I ultimately do want to exit the firm, I also don’t want to be openly broadcasting my intent to leave by telling the firm attorney(s) that I’m interested. Thoughts?

Hi all, I would appreciate your thoughts - I’ve been really struggling to adjust to long-term WFH and just have been extremely unhappy with it (feelings of isolation, burnout, hopelessness). I realize I’m not spending time on commute and such, not wearing uncomfortable clothes, but I’m still really miserable. I feel like most of my daily joy used to come from live interaction with people. I know many of y’all are really thriving on WFH and need your help / thoughts on how best to adjust. TIA!!
