My guess is that an average junior partner with no equity or book isn’t hitting 600k unless it’s a firm where the equity partners are pulling in several million on average. So it’s a relatively small group.

Ask people at your firm

The thing is there is absolutely 0 consistency from from to firm to firm and you will likely get 0 actual numbers in response to this type of post. If you don’t have mentors at your firm who you can talk to about I’m this work on that instead. Good luck.

What about new counsel (in forms where counsel is a stepping stone to partner). I get the sense it’s not much more than what associates top out at. And possible less

At my firm counsel will start making probably 50k or so more than senior associates.

What’s everyone’s summer (May-Sept) working hours - assuming you don’t have a 6/30 year end client. The partners expectation is 8-6:30 and logging on from home after that some days. Is that insane?

How do you guys deal with staff who turn in incomplete projects right at the timeline you set with them? And they then use nonsensical questions as an “excuse” for why they don’t finish their work. Also: I make absolutely sure I make myself as available as possible for check ins/zoom calls if they are stuck

Hi, OPT question for folks. My student visa expires in December (EAD expiresin first week of January). I will be enrolling in day 1 CPT college but was told I don’t need to go back to hone country to get my visa stamp on passport. My concern is will this affect me down the road if I apply for green card let’s say in 4 years. Because my passport does not have a valid visa after this year but I will still be staying in the USA under my masters I-20. Thanks!

Need some advice. I take home roughly 4k/month after taxes and IRA contributions (6% 401k and 3% Roth). My rent is around 900 and I usually spend 300-400 on my credit card. Cont...

I’m due to get the vaccine tomorrow and feeling under the weather today with some cold like symptoms (fatigued, slightly sore throat, slight muscle aches). I often get these symptoms right before my period, which is scheduled to arrive in the next couple of days, so could be that, but I also don’t want to risk (i) getting anyone sick at the vaccination clinic or (ii) getting the vaccine if I’m actually sick. Would you postpone?

How much do senior associates talk to partners about the performance of juniors? I’m a first year who submits most of my work product to senior associates for review before partners ever see it. I get good feedback from the seniors but don’t hear much from the partners.
