I got through all the rounds of interviews (including 2 technical panels) at CrowdStrike before being assured that I was nearing the end of the process and was expected to receive an offer soon… almost two weeks ago now? Anyone else experienced this kind of delay from CS or similarly sized organizations? Did I get ghosted? Anything more I should be doing?

SWEs can get paid for overtime if they’re on-call for a critical product. On-call rotates among the engineers of that team each week
I never cared about OT, I was just wondering because my friends in other less busy fields act like I'm on crack and being conned when I tell them this 😂
I tell them it's nbd and expected but I recently started wondering if I really was just delusional.

You still make more money than people with jobs that do pay overtime so... don’t see how it’s a con
Some engineers get OT (utilities, gov’t, etc) but I’ve never heard of it for any software engineering roles.
I believe all of the restructuring firms have some variable component of salary determined by number of hours worked. Either on a quarterly or annual basis.
Law firms often have bonuses based on hours billed
One way to look at it is that overtime is baked into our high salaries. I knew some people who weren't fans of my longer hours without overtime pay, but I made like twice what they did even after they did overtime.
Oh, and you can get overtime on 1099 consulting work.
Accenture gets paid over time at entry level. I made an extra 35k my first two years 👍
