Don’t eat a full space cake, stick with a half.

likefunny

Red light district and coffee shops as well

like

What SC1 said. Ate a whole space cake in 1 sitting and slept for 16 hours straight. Actually it was pretty awesome

like

I also did not get off the train back to the airport and ended up near Belgium, was the last train for the night. Had to sleep in the station until the next train at 7am.

It’s super easy to get around to other places in the Netherlands.

like

Art museums and galleries are phenomenal.

like

OP I got one at Paradox bc some local friends said it was the best. Cash only. Just go in and ask for a space cake

like

Buy some shrooms on a nice day and go to VondelPark in the morning. Then explore.

like

Anne frank museum is a must. Tickets sell out far in advance. Also recommended going on a canal tour. Peddle keg is fun too

like

Heineken brewery tour

like

Van Gogh and Rijks Museum

like

@D1, walking, checking out scenes, nearby villages

like

How do I get these cakes???

like

Coffeeshops have cakes and also sell buds and prerolled joints. Don’t buy anything on the street.

like

If you’re taking train from Central to the Airport, Don’t! Uber. Depending on when you leave, trains are packed. In my case, I was unable to get off the train before it departed. Next stop wasn’t for an hour. Took 2 hours to get back to the Airport. Needless to say, I missed my flight

like

D3, I have never taken train but that is good to know.
I did take a bus once on a 10 hr layover to the Rijks and had no problems. Last time there I took an Uber in a Tesla.

like

Thanks all

like

Buy all of your tickets online ahead of time! It’ll save you from having to wait in a separate line at the museums to buy a ticket and then stand in a separate line to enter

Have dinner at Hennequin & To. It’s one of the best restaurants I’ve been to and reasonably prized. Found it by chance when I was there.

like

If I have a new project starting in a week or two, can I still take a risk with the space cake

like

Technically there is a decent chance you will be fine but not worth it imo. Unless you know someone else at the client who can tell you if they drug test

That half brownie tip is for real

Have anyone been to San Juan PR on H1B visa on vacation?

If you wanting a mix of salary increase and work / life benefit increase, what are some things you negotiate for that you now have in your job? Additional pto? Flex time? Other special arrangements? I tried a frozen embryo transfer for the first time and I think it hasn’t been successful because of how stressful I find my job to be. Recent law grad here, looking for a firm job. Can others share what I should be looking for in a compensation package nowadays? What's typical and what's not? (e.g. 401k match, health/dental/vision, paid time off, vacation). And how does that change based on: small firm, midsize firm, big firm? Thanks in advance!

what difference does 109% vs. 100% utilization make at Year End? Latter basically means you took your PTO, former means you worked every minute of the year (Consulting, S&O)

Anyone familiar with Covid Supplemental Paid Sick Leave in CA? Does having planned time off nullify a full time employee’s ability to use the C19 sick leave if they become sick just prior to the planned time off? (I’ve only been able to find references to eligibility being based off of hours work preceding C19 sick leave - nothing about planned time off)

Aside from all the usual benefits like paid vacation time, health insurance, 401k matching program, have you ever seen a truly unique business perk?

I know this has been discussed but can’t find exactly what I’m after... How much is too much money to negotiate? Negotiate for more money and more PTO or just one. Both are low, especially the PTO

One of your roommates (and a close friend that you’ve known for years) has a flight to catch. He has a suitcase, a duffle bag (no wheels), and a backpack. In order for him to get to the airport would you:

A) offer to drive him to the airport that’s about .5 miles away (5 minute drive)

B) tell him to order an Uber since you know his work would pay for it

C) tell him to not be lazy and walk half a mile to the nearest public transportation stop, with all that luggage, and take public transit
