Older attorneys keep trying to force dictation on me. I’m a newer lawyer and have trouble verbalizing my motions and legal writing for complex issues I am just beginning to understand. I don’t see how constantly waiting for my secretary to get me drafts of my dictated material is going to make me more efficient. Is it unreasonable for me not to want to dictate? It seems really outdated and when I write things myself they are 10x more coherent and take about the same amount of time.

Is it rude to set up some time with someone who's constantly mistakes your name? or is it not worth/kinda expected bc it's not the client?

 

Client X is paying us to work with Team Y. Manager Z on Team Y keeps calling me (analyst) the other analyst's name or anything else. It's been 6 months of almost daily check-ins with this person and I've tried everything from starting the meetings with "Hi, [John Doe] here" to turning camera on. The other analyst doesn't sound or look anything like me.
