I think I asked for too low of a salary during initial interviews elsewhere. The recruiter never told me the band either. About to go into second round. Is there still a chance to ask for more?
If you’re applying to another consulting job without a referral quit being selfish and help a brother (or sister) out. Help us, help you, to help us, getting a referral bonus
Applying to top 10 schools this coming fall. Will have ~4 years work exp at matriculation. 770 GMAT, 3.3 GPA in engineering from an HYPSM. Data science/consulting with one promo. (Cont.)
Are people still applying after only 2 years in consulting? Seems common for MBB but I wonder how you built solid recommendations / experience in so little time post-undergrad.
Do Deloitte's case interviews involve math?
Anyone exited to AbbVie? Saw a position of interest but curious about culture and WLB, and how much a referral helps vs. cold applying.
To those in Palo Alto, what's the reputation amongst the BigLaw firms there? Thoughts on Wilson Sonsini or Paul Hastings? Interviewing at the moment and trying to get a sense of the on the ground experience and reputation of the various shops.
I interviewed for a role for another team within my organization and went on PTO for 2 days. When I came back my director told me I didn’t get the role but there were better plans for me in the near future. I found out from HR after that I did get the role but the organization decided to pause the offer waiting for another one in the near future. How would you react if your Director and company make a career choice for you without consulting with you?
Deloitte 🐠—I saw from my feed that they’re letting go of people recently b/c they have too many now. Should I still apply? Was planning on applying to S&O and would be going from a boutique firm. TIA!
I am H1B and I’ve started my GC process. my husband is also on H1B but won’t get his GC sponsored until his next job. What happens if he has started the GC process but by then his H1B had run out? Can he still work while it’s pending with an application for EAD? Can he work as H4 under my H1B till I get my GC issued?
Best ways to live and work (in consulting) internationally? Firm has a global deployment program but many just quit the US firm after applying / getting hired to another country's member firm.
Best way to prep for the McKinsey PEI interview?
Hey all - considering applying to two roles. One is with UnitedHealth and another one says Optum advisory. Does anyone have insights into work culture and pros/cons of one organization vs the other? How easy is it to move within UHG?
While switching companies, can we get the H1B visa transfer approved and still work for the old company for 2 months?
If I have not gotten an interview from a school at this point for Round 2 (Stanford, Haas) is that a definite indicator of a rejection or waitlist? Nobody gets in without an interview, right?
In case H1B gets denied (I hope that doesn’t happen), what countries have you considered moving to besides Canada. Indian national and pending transfer to MBB if that helps.
Any recent H1B transfers to EY? I want to know the timeline, overall experience and outcomes.
Anyone recently joined Deloitte?? Please reply .. after Technical interviews I got a mail for my documents.. what will be the next procedure.
L1B to L1A then EBC1 - possible? I’m currently on a L1B at Accenture, based in US which will expire soon and getting extended. Accenture hasn’t been super helpful with my immigration inquires. I’m up for manager and debating if I should do the L1B to L1A transfer or just wait it out until my L1B expires. Do I not qualify for EBC1 since I got my L1A in the country and not prior to transferring with that 1 year managerial experience abroad?
Is 2 Weeks notice mandatory? I'm in California and on H1b if it makes any difference. Can I give 1 week notice?
If you’re in LCOL or MCOL, is your firm losing people to California firms offering remote work and California wages? I know some have left for Seiler; Citrin Cooperman; CohnReznick; Abbott, Stringham, and Lynch; Frank Rimerman; Green Hasson Janks. Just curious if it has affected your office at all and if you left for one of those firms, what is your experience so far?
Under normal circumstances (I.e. pre Covid), is it much harder to get sponsored for actually academic courses like MA or MPhil as opposed to MBAs? People might say those are not as relevant as MBAs to business, but MBAs don’t strike me as anything particularly vocational either.
What are people hearing at the local levels for spending and tax policy changes due to covid related budget deficits?
Any insights on HP interview?
Is LinkedIn helpful? I only see it as a means to showcase one's experience/education background. Am I missing out on its benefits? Not a lot of big agencies post jobs there (atleast in my city) and the recruiters that do reach out have vague, often marketing-related, job offers.
Vacation people on the airport parking shuttle asking where I'm off too. Hell, I'm off to hell.
Where’s the best place to get a HELOC? We bank with chase. Our lender said they don’t do HELOCs. He recommended a local credit union. Any other suggestions?
Has anyone ever interviewed at iProspect? Did you work with the recruiter, Alexander? What does the timeline typically look like?
Probably asked a lot but how do you deal with the stress of a new project which involves a new team? Always had positive feedback but every time I get to join a different team on a project or proposal the stress is very high and it makes me reluctant to say yes to new assignments if they involve people I don't know.
Hi Fishes, I have recently joined PwC SDC as an Associate 2. Wanted to know that is there any smartphone reimbursement or mobile phone program here. TIA!
Anyone actually more motivated to remain in consulting since having kids? Sometimes wonder if I will feel that way after (currently pregnant) because I can provide well financially for my child...
