I’m in a nightmare case involving multiple claims of professional negligence against many people/entities. The two person firm representing the plaintiffs has filed 6 notices of unavailability and essentially refuses to allow depositions or motion practice to occur. Is there a way to ask for court intervention to move this case forward? CR 16?

I left my old firm and started my own firm in September. I have already started to get client referrals and so far I am working from my home only - because it’s COVID time and people know Zoom now. I do estate planning and elder law, which lends itself to meeting clients at their locations when needed. I don't think I have ever felt so stupid before. My firm recently hired someone who was barred in 2021. I was barred 2019. I took it as I was senior to him and tried to mentor him. It is common practice at my small firm by two main partners to fly through transactions for clients regardless of potential conflicts (for the company) or issues that may arise. It is often chaotic and has led to lawsuits being filed by investors against the clients. I know this is expected from time to time but I feel like I’m not getting the proper exposure to doing deals the right way. Would it be better at a larger firm or is this common anywhere? Mostly deal with microcap companies.
