Analyst keeps taking time off for dr appointments, sick, etc. Today they were screen sharing and had a bunch of tabs open with titles that were obviously emails regarding interview scheduling, follow ups, and job search websites. Hope all that sickness doesn’t impede their ability to land a new job!

Agree with OP, people should chill out a bit. I laughed when I read this. OP never implied they were upset or would hold it against the analyst in any way..

Just for fun, I would just ask nonchalantly on the call where you saw the screen share how the job hunt is going! Just kidding…that wouldn’t be nice. But as their manager, I would still have a one one to let them know what you saw; find out if there is anything you can do to get them to stay and emphasize that while it’s totally acceptable to use your PTO to look for a job, it’s still beat to be discreet about.

Idk, seems like a post made more out of frustration rather than just humorous observation. Even OP's response seems overly defensive, like it hit a nerve. I'm 100% positive that OP is > 0% bothered.

Could use as an opportunity to understand why they’re looking to leave and make changes if possible.

Given this post, I don't think it's that hard to figure out why they might want to leave.

Just the fact they're job searching on their work comp tells me that they give no f*cks lol

Or that they're really dumb haha

For the record, this post was meant to convey a funny anecdote about an analyst being sloppy on screen share. I don’t care that he’s taking time off and I’m happy he has new opportunities. I wouldn’t be where I am without a lot of job hopping and am always in support of others doing the same to chase their dreams and cash goals. I guess dry humor doesn’t translate well via text…

Ahhhhhhh. Got it.

I know everyone is hating on you, but I think this is pretty funny😂

Congrats on the new role!

Lol I mean why would u stay loyal to a company if there’s always better opps?

Doesn't everyone?

OP you can also play a constructive role in improving retention.

Yeah been giving some thought on how to bring it up tactfully so as not to out them as trying to leave to others (or give the perception that I would) and not cause undue embarrassment. Most of our attrition is due to under market pay, and I’m assuming that’s a big part of the reason, but i plan on doing some prodding and figure out what else there might be.

My boyfriend and I are planning to go back to the city from our respective parents’ homes. Is it okay for us to go back and quarantine together or should he quarantine for 2 weeks before we meet up since he’s had someone who’s been going to the office for work?

Should I give RSM an opportunity to match (I don’t think they will)? And does that PwC comp seem fair?
