SF has become the douchebag capital of the US.
in Chicago there's a huge university of Illinois clique that is impenetrable 😂
LOL yes. Especially SF Strategy analysts. 🙄
Am consultant in SF office occasionally. As a casual observer, it seems the analysts here are clique-y in a very obviously insecure and fake way. Overly loud and enthusiastic when they are around each other with little to no substance - "Owe mah gawd! Ah haven't seen you in ahges!" "Did you go to Philz!!? Isn't that the BEST!?" - I don't eavesdrop, it's all bit cringeworthy, they are THAT loud. And they throng together as if there's safety in numbers. Idk how anyone can take them seriously enough to staff.
Eh... Just knock em down a peg. Most of them are Haas undergrads that think they're the shit. It'll wear off when they roll into their first tough project.
Gosh the Haas undergrads... it's like a cult at this point
"Impenetrable" 🤔😏
As a SF Strat analyst, I agree - too many Berkeley kids
It's basically because most analysts there went to Berkeley, and they all know each other from there or other areas. Also, there aren't many strat analysts, and we have some terrible TFS / bench issues / leadership's decisions that we can all discuss and that have bonded some groups. I'm outside.of the clique, as likely the longest tenured Sr. Analyst, and have seen it develop slowly over 2.5 years
Honestly, I felt the clique vibe so hard that when I finally saw someone I knew, I was *genuinely* ecstatic, haha.
Is this an SF analyst issue?
Take notes, strategy kids ☺️
Yes!! Just moved to Chicago and it hasn't been very long but everyone is immediately more welcoming at the office events for whatever reason
I just want to cuddle with some Haas cuties.
The locals are pretty clique.. but they've know each other for 4+ years now. After 3 months of so, people become less upright
A9 Strat doesn't go right away but tech and digital do. Maybe they bond on the initial bench.
I resent the obtuse staffing comment A8 🙄
Maybe we're just all jealous of their bonding
Did you recently start, OP? That's how I felt when I first started.
I know so many SF strat analysts...i agree
Does strategy do the initial training in St Charles right away? Maybe they formed a tight friend group during training.
