BJP PR agency is at work now. The bottomline is the cops burned the victim’s body in the middle of night without the permission of her family. Everything else is a hogwash.

like

Precisely. Shekhar Gupta did a nice story on this. These kind of incidents happen, India is a large, poor and mismanaged country and this is the harsh reality. But how you react to these incidents is what is remembered. You CANNOT just burn the victim’s body, under any circumstances. Many years from today, we will still remember Hathras case by this and we will remember those who were in power and accountable.

VP - beg to differ but I don’t trust the police and the government’s version specially when it comes to reporting an atrocity against Dalits in a state like UP.

smart

I don’t know what a ‘state like UP’ implies and I don’t want to know. I don’t know what VP has, but the state has requested CBI probe with Supreme Court guidance. So whatever your views on my state and it’s people are, you don’t have to worry about the UP government or police

Advice wanted: My firm lied about our raises this year. They said we’d match the other top 10 firms, and that was absolute BS. I’m having a hard time staying motivated. I’m doing senior level work without the title or pay. Fresh college grads are getting paid more than me. I’m already job searching, but I feel bad that I don’t have the same drive as I did before when I thought I would be receiving a proper raise. I learned my lesson. Any advice for a young professional?

Have two offers and unsure which to take. Ex Big 4 and have done software startups since. Option 1: Director role back in Big 4. Good package. Good fit with my area of expertise, focusing on tech solutions and partnering with startups. Working across all industries and clients. Option 2: Big Tech/GAFAM (level = L6 google/e6 FB/65 Microsoft, which I’m told is Director equivalent) Even better package. Account Technology Strategist. Less client diversity but using breadth of their tech.
