Company : Hey take this money and buy an office chair, table ,extra monitors, accessories to setup your home office. Me : Hey! Thanks. Company : Are you now comfortable working from home and feel productive ? Me : Yeah. Company: Awesome! Now come back to your base location and spend majority of your time working from a rented place where you will miss both Working from home and working from office.

My manager decided starting Monday, we're having all-day silent zoom meetings- we connect with cameras on and he watches us work. He has control issues & they're getting worse. Any way out of this?

Is anyone going else confused and upset agencies are making people go back into the office? Commuting is horrific and wastes time, and honestly I work more efficiently from home without distractions. All for the option to go in, I just think it’s super tone deaf to make people go in again. The world’s changed. Don’t move backwards.

What is your personal policy on how fast you will respond to client emails? How about emails for new prospective clients/new business? I personally am really hard on myself over fast communications by email and Slack. I haven’t gotten in trouble for anything but keep feeling this immense pressure I put on myself to be always on or respond within a few hours.

I’m having some issues w/ my director. My organization has given us 10 ETO days to use for Covid related issues. We’ve been going back&forth on this, the language is ambiguous&he thinks I’m asking to use this inappropriately. We had a meeting yesterday to discuss this because he brought this up to legal&recorded it without my prior approval - I showed up to the webex&it announced the meeting was being recorded). I’ve asked for the recording and still haven’t received it- what would you do next?

My manager just told be to stop smoking during a zoom meeting. Am I wrong to think this is unreasonable? I’m in my own home.

Ideas how to be a supportive friend to a single guy living alone and avoiding all social interaction because of covid? He was such a close friend before, but now we do zoom hangouts less and less often. I'm married and don't know what single folks are going thru right now but I'm truly worried about him. I've dropped off goodies and suggested safer activities like masked hikes or bike rides but he's not comfortable with that, and looks like we can't get vaccinated for awhile yet.
