Season tickets somewhere so he can take your daughter as she gets older? (And a friend, or you now?) I know it can be expensive - but for a 10 year thing... and maybe for something tangible, matching jerseys when you give him the season pass paperwork?

like

I second this. I would buy season tickets for next year

I’ll have to disagree on the season tickets point. Your daughter will be way too young to care and then you’ll just be annoyed when he leaves all the time to go to games and you are at home taking care of the baby. All depends on the situation but ideas include: nicer TV,get the really good sports package from your cable or satellite provider, signed Jersey/ball of favorite athlete, really nice bottle of whiskey, etc

This isn’t for consulting, but please if anyone could help with a restaurant/ food & beverage director position I would greatly appreciate it. My immigrant father has been unemployed over a year due to Covid. He can’t get a job anywhere despite his stellar experience and work ethic. He speaks perfect English so that’s not a problem, it’s really more so his age I’m afraid he’s being discriminated against. PLEASE if anyone can help to get him a referral/ job ASAP. Thank you.

So I have been trying to get back into a more steady stream of income & I have been applying to jobs, one of the first questions most interviewers have asked is about my network in NYC. I have been consulting all over the country since 2016 & since Covid hit most of my NYC contacts in the Food industry have left the City. I have missed opportunities because I don’t have a giant network anymore, any advice?

It seems like covid is not affecting teachers/students as much as we feared....yet.

When did vaccines and mandating them become so divisive and political? Most colleges (and some jobs) have always required proof of vaccination for MMR, HPV, etc well before Covid. Now everyone seems to be all up in arms for Covid vaccine and work mandating them. The science to make a vaccines isn’t new (which explains the speed) nor is the mandates to get vaccines. The vaccine is also clearly effective so this “debate” seems silly at this point

Reflecting on 2021. What is the best and worst thing that has happened to you this year?

Best: Due to the pandemic, my parents aren't able to travel out of the country this holiday season. It's my first Christmas with them in probably 15 years 🥰

Worst: l went through a lot of medical issues this year (covid, surgery, mental health, etc). I'm much better now but it was a scary year for me, health-wise. Eye opening for sure.

Okay, it’s time to stop putting on a face about this. I love my boyfriend so much, but covid is ruining us. We are both still WFH and argue every few days about the dumbest stuff. My and his mental health are both diminishing and it feels like an impossible trench to dig out of. My stomach hurts every time we fight and I (independent of him) feel so stuck in this horrible global crisis. I don’t want to lose him, but I need to figure out how to dig us both out of this unsustainable mental state.

As the post-COVID workplace is transforming the core essence of what’s most important to recruiting, retaining and developing talent (employees, consultants, hybrid type work), what are the core one or two “MVPs”- - (Most Valuable Professional-Personal) ‘essentials’ you require for your ideal career-life design blueprint?

I just achieved a very high performance rating at my company (was told I was rated in top 5% across the company). When I called my mom (emotionally immature , and sadly a bit mentally ill; though she is Asian and would never admit it) she said the accomplishment was not due to what I did primarily but rather the fact that I went (ages ago) to a top Ivy League school. This hurt so much that I cried and my dad got very upset too “a joyous occasion was ruined and became tragic and sad” he said.
