Have NYC-based employers with hybrid schedule been lenient for office workers? In light of crime trends, pandemic, work-life priorities, I'm trying to assess if taking a hybrid NYC job (as someone working remotely from NJ now) is worth the headache. Potential new employer says 3 days in a week, but during my interview process, I only met with one person who was in the office during my Zoom interview.

Hi! Can someone recommend a source for learning how do simple, fun music lessons on Zoom? I teach first grade and use music for my transitions. IEP, 504, and those without internet will return in-person next week while rest of students remain remote. Regular Ed teachers may have students (mild Learning Disabled kiddos) in their room while teaching. What’s your opinion on math homework? I teach 4th grade and have always given it but I’d like to see what others do and weigh out if it’s really worth it. If I give it, I feel like I should spend class time going over it but on the other hand I stress myself out trying to keep the absent work organized and those that don’t even do the work.

I’m teaching summer school at a high school, and the co-principals have asked me to focus on only 2 to 3 chapters worth (what they are calling “2-3 standards” in the eight days of summer semesters. However, they are also asking me to give kids the midterm and/or final at the end of each period, which covers 4-5 chapters each semester. My question is this: “Is it legal by California Ed code for the administration to ask me to teach less than each entire semester, yet test each whole semester?”
