Antisemitic hate crimes are on the rise in Toronto, and around the world. Why doesn’t anybody care?

Most people don’t see being Jewish as an ethnic group. They see it as a religion that mostly White people follow, so they’re not oppressed and don’t need any support. But the silence of the hyper-woke is very telling. They weren’t very silent when Hamas won the propaganda war in May, when they were blindly sharing social posts that lead to this recent rise in anti-semitism. I’ve also noticed the silence of the hyperwoke on Afghanistan with the Taliban’s coup, especially when the Palestinian government congratulated them after they seized Kabul.

People not speaking out does not equate to hating Jews. As I said, anti semitism or hate of any kind is never ok. We all need to speak out more about a lot of things. I was merely vocalizing what some people think & why they don’t speak out. It is possible to condemn anti Semitism and also want peace for Palestinians. Two things can be true. It is also possible to criticize Netanyahu & the Israeli government without being anti-Semitic. I just think we need to have a more open dialogue about it.

Because the loud woke bunch believe they have the wrong skin color to care about. On something I posted last week a couple comments said it’s not possible to be discriminatory or racist against people with white skin because they have the power. Which is wrong and racist.

Self portrait? I’m not angry. Just disappointed that people have such a limited world view in this city and this industry. So I call it out with as much respect as possible.

I think it’s because most Jews are considered rich and white. Not saying this is right but I think that’s why the general public are slower to feel like they need to do something.

That’s very honest and understandable. Also quite sad that prejudices regarding Jewish people are so acceptable.

Because nobody gives a shit about us.

Yes but many are white passing. And that makes a huge difference in your day to day experience with people.

Of course it matters. But some of our own kind are also going through hate crimes ourselves? Not saying this is a competition but as a BIPOC I do sort of have my own struggles to worry about.

Jewish people are 2% of the US population and receive over 50% of hate crimes. But we don’t get widespread media attention.

It's more a case of Christians controlling women's bodies. Those "white men" (the Texas Senate is 61% white btw) get elected by women too who share their pro-life beliefs.

Hate crimes on the rise in Toronto? Evidence?

Read actual report it’s based on. The demographics page is based on outdated data. I know it’s easier to read a 1 page article vs. a 100 page report, but if you’re going to start a thread…

I'd guess that a lot of people care. Do you mean "why isn't anyone making an ad about it?" What's stopping you?

Beyond 2 lines the text in each post card is cut off. I wonder how many lines in the comment section?

Part of the crowd. The briefcase doesn't show in post details though.

Living it up in the city.

How much of an advantage to minorities have in the initial hiring process? I.e getting interviews, etc.

How to get out of credit card debt?

Everyone gets asked but curious on best responses to the interview question, "What's your biggest weakness?", especially on an interview to leave consulting

Snapshots - have 50% partially at next level, 30% next level and 20% at level. Thoughts on possibility of promotion?

"You will end this meeting and exit the room"... Nope, didn't work. #stillapadawan

As someone who grew up with parents who provided for us on $35k a year, I’m so sick of people who post things like “I’m 23 with $200k in savings and a $150k job - is that good?? 🥺🥺” y’all are annoying
