Agencies perpetuate this fear and it’s maddening. It boils down to trust. If you can’t take people at their word when they’re either sick or working from home, why would you even hire them in the first place?

like

So fucked up this industry makes us feel like this 😔

like

I’m confused by this post. If you’re legitimately ill, why are you working at all? Take a rest.

like

I promise you that you’re the ONLY person thinking about whether or not you’re working “enough” while home

Hehehe...boy

I feel you. When WFH I usually end up working more but there are always that anxiety on the back of my mind.

like

Lol @ rest.

This was me RIGHT before a final pitch meeting 3 weeks ago. I was so sick my doc told me I probably should have gone to the ER. Try your hardest to rest. The shit that’s going around this year is no joke

like

I find that my anxiety goes down when I take an actual sick day instead of trying to wfh. Wfh doesn't allow me to rest or work very well when I'm actually sick.

Ya mon.

I have 10+ years of experience Agency side, but looking to move Client side with remote work. I've applied for a number of roles either directly on Client sites or via LinkedIn, but haven't even received anything other than a straight rejection at the first stage. Wondering if anyone has experienced similar and overcome it/any tips. My resume has a number of large Agencies and global clients on it, with (IMO at least) some nice success stories, but wondering if I'm missing something obvious.

Moving to NYC next year, and my SO is based in Seattle. He is very keen to spend more time with me in NYC, even suggesting living there while remote working is still a thing. I’m a little hesitant bc we’ve only been dating for 2-3 months and it would feel like moving in tgt. Also not sure if i should be looking for a studio or 1br for more space but at a much higher price tag that i have to pay for. Any thoughts?

I'm a tech consultant with 1 YOE. Im wondering if I should trade my current job: 80k TC, fully remote, ~45 hrs/week, fantastic company and team, and really fun projects, for a new opportunity: 125k TC, 100% in person, ~60 hrs/week, unknown team and company dynamics? Im leaning toward staying, because I really do love where I am, but thats life changing money! Any advice is appreciated!

Resume is mostly attractive bc of extensive international/cross-cultural experience & DoS experience. Am I still too “meh” with only 1yoe & no tech skills?
