Additional Posts in Depression/Anxiety Talk

I’ve been home for the quarantine since 22nd February, and I believe I gained approximately ~10kgs (and trust me, I’ve never been normal weight)..
I try to convince myself to have a walk, to practice some yoga.. but at the end I stay at home working or watching Netflix, as I don’t want to meet people. I feel I want to go to the seaside but still I feel so ashamed for my body and I think I’ll be home for the entire summer. It’s like I want to hide myself from the world and disappear.

Day 2 of being back in the office after a 3 month FMLA. My panic attacks and anxiety are just as worse as it was. I thought the 3 month time gave me perspective and I recovered. But feels like some sort PTSD. Day 1 - was already overloaded with tasks, really early morning client calls. I feel so helpless and feeling so overwhelmed, heart has been racing, can’t stop thinking that I am going to fail, but cant tell it out loud. I don’t want to go back to the miserable me, depressed and burntout.

How do I breakup with my therapist? I’ve yet to find a new one but I don’t feel like I gain anything from these appointments and I dread going and paying for the sessions

Is anybody else staying in a toxic job/culture to build their resiliency or prove something to themselves?

Started new job (post-consulting) a year back and have seen little concern for people, constant leadership bullying, and demoralized colleagues.

However, at times in career I have felt too “soft” - not great with confrontation & only thrive in friendly environments. Is there logic in staying to build resiliency? (Or perhaps I should lower my expectation of humanity in business?)

Everyday I can’t seem to hit the required billable hours. I’m overwhelmed by emails and people asking me where an item is. I feel like I’m not good enough. I keep making mistakes I shouldn’t make at my level. I wish I could just quit so I wouldn’t have to be miserable everyday.

Is therapy covered by FSA? Or do I have to have an official diagnosis for depression?

I’ve suffered from workaholism for a long time. Thanks to a lot of great self help books and therapy, I’m no longer putting work on a pedestal and I’m spending a lot more time on self care and my marriage. But, unfortunately, I am now getting withdrawals, because my body is used to the daily adrenaline of throwing myself into work. It’s this terrible feeling of like anguish/unease in my gut, but I don’t have anything I’m worried about- it’s like my body wants to find something to worry about.

I find it so frustrating that a therapy session costs $150-$250 for 50 minutes. Also, trying to find therapists who accept new patients with insurance is also extremely difficult.

Anyone have undesirable side effects from the meds that you take for depression or anxiety? How do you cope with them? For me, the side effects are the lesser of two evils, because the meds themselves are working for me.

I take Bupropion (Wellbutrin), and is effective in helping me with my depression, but the side effect that I experience, memory issues, is pronounced and bothersome. My psychiatrist and I tried reducing my dosage, and it lessened the side effect, but it became quite clear that I needed to revert to my normal dosage to address my depression.

At one point we tried a "cocktail" by adding a small dose of Abilify, but that med was disastrous for me, and I needed to curtail it for my own well being (YMMV).

How do you know you are in depression? I know there are tests on this, but wondering what your criteria/description is.
