Lol no. I'm not even close. Million Miler so I only go down to Gold if I don't requal though.
I’m hoping that if we’re all in the same boat they’ll extend again 😆 otherwise will have to try and do some status match on another airline for 2022 but not sure if that would work out the way I think it would in my head

Idk if we’ll get a free pass like last year but I anticipate more bonuses that make it easier
Just shy of 2/3s the way back to 1K on UA. Had some rollover PQDs from early 2020 tho. I’ll do a mileage run at the end of the year if I need to. Zero plan to lose 1K.

AA has thankfully made it easy now. All you need is $2,000 in EQD between September 1 and EOY and you can keep your current status, regardless of whether you did any flying before September 1. I hadn’t expected to be able to keep EXP, but I’m happy I can! As an alternative to spending $2k on AA and partner flights, you can keep status if you charge $15k of any spend to an AA credit card.

No EQMs required. It’s pretty crazy. https://www.aa.com/i18n/aadvantage-program/aadvantage-program-updates.jsp
I suspect in the end most airlines and hotel chains will just extend status another year, which AA has already done for Concierge Key. Not worth losing customers just because they didn’t travel last year and it’s not super easy to differentiate who didn’t travel because of Covid vs who is traveling less or with competitors for other reasons. Elite customers who predominantly traveled to Asia Pacific are unlikely to be able to do that at all this year. And even London is largely off the table at the moment. Pretty hard to otherwise hit EXP without premium cabin Intl travel.
Doesn’t make sense to announce it now as that’ll lead to less flying/shift in share of wallet to other carriers.
