1. Try to listen to what the customer is saying and satisfy their need with solutions products offered by the bank.
2. Understand the “Whys.” Why is compliance do important? Why do we need CTRs, SARs, Holds on accounts, etc.
3. Think outside of the box by identifying a market in your area that is not being met by other banks? How could you meet that need
Don't push your sales team too much with ridiculous petty goals . Have Lolipops at the branch
Pay attention to communication. Make it a habit. Over-communicate if you have to. Inside and outside the branch.
It’s easy to judge or make assumptions about people because of their situation or lack of knowledge - happens all the time. Communicate and make decisions with empathy. In most instances a conversation can help a client or win one for life.
Be prepared to work your ass off and for your BM to take all the credit.
Be a sponge. My time as an assistant manager was the most hard working time of my career to date, but the things I learned during that time prepared me for future roles to come in banking.
