Unbranched from my last post :
What are the ultimate career goals for someone with our experience and skillsets?
Data, Analytics, Consulting, Industry/functional
experience, maybe some tech..
Is it to be a Chief Data Officer or similar?
I've worked closely with several CDOs, and I'm not sure it's my dream..
I'm tired of showing organizations how to be "data-driven".
I think I can't stomach more "data governance" programs.
Having said that, I know a few CDOs with TC >$1M.
Whatever you do, do not go into nursing just for the money. You must have a passion for caring for others (which I assume you do as a teacher) and be able to put up with difficult situations, patients, families, etc. Need to be an incredible multi-tasker and calm under pressure. If you can do all that you will make a great nurse and have incredible job security.
This! My wife is a nurse and has a genuine love and the patience for wanting to offer care to others. And i’ve seen some of her coworkers who obviously did it for the money and the care isn’t there. They do things half assed and it’s usually the patients that suffer the worst because those kinds of nurses only do enough for the check and not what’s best for the patient.

All the nurses I know are trying to leave for exactly the same reasons all the teachers I know are trying to leave - extreme burnout, putting up with a ton of abuse, being way underpaid, highly political environments, etc.
Teachers are so underpaid and under appreciated. I genuinely love working with kids, but I realized that I pour so much into my students I have no energy to give to my own children and family. I also wouldn’t be able to support my family with $35,000 without a significant other.
Both of those careers are so, SO burn-out prone -- take good care OP!
