I’m about to start an internship at IBM for UX Research. I’m super excited about it, and was wondering if anyone could tell me about the design culture there or how the company is for designers? So far online I’ve only heard about the company from consultants or software engineers. For more reference I’ll be working in Austin.
Those in FDD, why do you like it?

Major categories you must own to be successful are scope (sow, brd/backlog), schedule (timeline, calendars), and budget (SOW, timesheets, fixed cost). No reasonable client will expect you to be the SME, so don’t be afraid to say ‘I don’t know but will find out.’ Be there for the team and do anything in your power to make things easy for them. I’ve been a PM for ~10y and it’s an awesome profession once you learn to navigate! Good luck!
Don’t get stuck in the weeds; non-critical tasks that crowd to do list will choke out whatever garden you’re trying to grow. Try to keep your to do list (and your teams) to just 3 items per day. Keeping a consistent level of granularity in your project plan / work breakdown structure will help you achieve this. Easier said than done, but an important concept I wish I had identified earlier.
Dm me - I’ve been stuck as well
We have Band 6 as PM now ? That’s rather unfair to expect a new hire
Good luck !
