Eat healthier. The means no grubbing on the left over thai from the vendor meeting. And if you have to work late and the office is ordering food, order something light and not completely crappy. Take 20mins each morning and do some stretching. And since you’re at Droga. Find ways to get to work that doesn’t include the ferry. Maybe twice a week, grab a Citibike and bike into work.

Use office sponsored dinners to eat the lame salad that comes with the pizza order. Try to sleep as much as possible and do face masks 💅

Eat healthy is my #1 - made a huge difference.

Workout before going in. Sucks waking up early, but easier to get yourself to the gym before your day starts then after the chaos of work has hit

We have the healthy peanut butter now so I'm not sure what you're talking about

I struggled with this last year. These are the things that adjusted.. Making lunches and calorie tracking (MyFitnessPal app is great) Workout twice a week if you can (full body strength training provides longer fat burn benefits than cardio - every pound of muscle burns something like 50 extra calories a day) Lots of water to help you feel full (often body mistakes dehydration for hunger) If you have to order food at the office for dinner make it something light - don't stress eat Walk to work if you can (if not walk at lunch or take a conf call on a walk) Avoid self medicating stress with booze especially during the week (lack of sleep will also add weight) - drinking was the biggest culprit for me

Try to take a 20 min walk during the workday if you can. And bring your lunch to work if you don’t already do that. Try to avoid stress overeating and overdrinking if possible. I know, all easier said than done. Just remember, you’re no good to anyone, including yourself, if you’re not healthy.

Hydrate! Block your calendar out so you are getting at least 1-2 hours of time to yourself (and so ppl don’t clutter your day with meetings). Hideout in the library on 33 and enjoy the view. Work from home when you can.

like

If your team is down, do a daily challenge, like a one minute plank everyday. If your pay is decent, find a gym that combines exercise with stress relief to add innate motivation to go on the off hours. (I prioritized an equinox membership when I realized how much stress relief could happen in just an hour of my day. Bougie af but helped a shit ton amidst the work chaos)

Diet is 70-80 percent of your health. Exercise is 20-30 percent. So focus on the healthy food as highest priority

Just don’t work long work hours.

if it’s absurd— leave

Even if you’re working late go to a near by 1 hour class or to the gym and come back. That was my entire life from 25-30. Helped me eliminate the 50 lbs I put on giving my life to agencies like Droga5

Find ways to redirect or block out the negativity that comes with the unhealthy vibes. Having a healthy mindset is huge. Also getting out for walks, eating more raw and healthy foods and making an effort to do something different outside your daily routine has always helped me. Good luck 🤞

Your health, mental and physical, underlies any happiness and success you’re going to have professionally and personally. If your health suffers, or if you allow it to be imperiled by work, you’re making a mistake that will have broad implications. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned in my career is that work will always expand to fill whatever hours you make available to it. I’d encourage you to establish some boundaries, and to schedule your workouts, meditation, whatever you need to be healthy, and preserve them with the same ferocity as a client or team meeting.

My firm has a reduced hours policy, and I know people who have negotiated reduced hours after having kids. I do not have kids yet (we recently started trying), but I’m seriously considering asking for a reduced hours arrangement (partly for future kids, but partly for sustainability of the career, mental health, physical health, etc.). The written policy doesn’t require it, but do I have to give a “reason” when asking for reduced hours? Anyone have experience with this?

Thoughts on Indexed Universal Life Insurance as an investment vehicle? I hear the pros and cons from the sellers of this, whom I understand gain heavy commissions. But wanted to get thoughts from investors and if this isn't a good vehicle, what alternative investment vehicles do you suggest (outside of stocks, Roth, 401k, and real estate)? Looking to diversify my portfolio. I'm 43, married, income 600k combined, and we have 2 properties worth 3m and investment accounts worth ~2-3m. Thanks!

Does anyone have any thoughts about a company terminating an employee within the HR team for testing positive for COVID 19 and further accusing the said employee of being the one that created the entire team to become infected by not answering the health screening questions accurately? The week prior to employee being tested the entire team was in the office sick. The company in question weeks prior wrote the employee up referencing sexual innuendo due to an accusation of a preferred name.

I am looking for some advice or opinions to apply for consulting jobs right now. I currently work at a mid-sized/regional firm, but plan move to a different city later this year. I have ~4 yr xp working on system implementations, IT policies/controls, and BPO, but my undergrad GPA wasn't the best (I did become a CPA and CISA though). Should I try to apply to big 3/big 4? Stay mid-sized? Get an MBA or Masters? Move and pray? Thanks in advanced for any comments!
