How long should I stay at an “A-list” agency if I haven’t made anything worthwhile? It’s not for a lack of work ethic but a lack of luck with everything getting killed by client.
A junior creative takes a good idea that has just been presented to the client and is awaiting final approval and publishes it on all social networks as a personal project. You reaction?
Client asks us to design a poster for an IMAX movie that features how blockbuster movies are made. One of the key features in the movie is King Kong so we featured it prominently on the poster as well. Client asks seriously whether we need to be concerned about offending an African American audience. I shit you not! Arguably my most jaw dropping moment in this business.
What is the deal with not using calculators in case interviews? When we’re in an actual client project, we do have these tools handy.
Opinions: I have self-harm scars on my arms from when I was a teenager, is it inappropriate/unprofessional to wear short sleeves and leave them exposed at the office or client site?
Director put me on a project and claimed this is my test to see if I'm ready for the next step? Ill be managing more junior staff. I wasn't promoted in the last cycle, so why the test now?
Deloitte’s Diversity & Inclusion group hosted Nicole Hannah-Jones today and it was a goddamn breath of fresh air to hear her speak candidly. Even called the firm out in some places. If you haven’t seen her NYT 1619 project, educate yourselves https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/08/14/magazine/1619-america-slavery.html
Love it when the leadership realizes that the presentation was supposed to be unbranded 9 months into the project and 30 status reports later😳🔫
I’ve been working for my client for about a year and love my projects and client team and have had strong performance-however my team running the PMO is disorganized, burnt out, and teetering on the verge of a major mishap if the trend continues. I’m looking elsewhere but have a strong relationship with our client leadership contacts…..how would I float the idea of them taking me client-side?
Hello, can anyone tell me about css corp ? How's this company ? I got a good offer from this company but I am confused should I join this company? I have gone through some portal like Glassdoor, indeed etc . The feedback was not too bod and not good. If anyone here from css corp please help me. I got an offer for bangalore but Job location mentioned in offer letter is Chennai, hr said initially the project was for Chennai but now its extended to other cities but location will be bangalore
I rolled off a project 3 months ago. They keep reaching out and asking me to help onboard new teammates to give them historical knowledge (it’s a long-term project). Do I have to keep doing this? Or does it get to a point where I can say I don’t have the time and there must be someone more recent who can help?
Has anyone worked remotely as a subcontractor on managing social media ads? How do you determine what to charge? Would you charge hourly or by project.
Just got off a two hour workshop with a client and was too scared to say anything and speak up even though I probably had good points. How do you get over the fear of being wrong or sounding stupid? I feel like I let my team down.
The lead on my project told me he wants me to speak up more and defend my opinion. I started to do that and now he gives me attitude when I don't agree with him and speak up. I never win 🤷♀️
Pawns of scatterplot, rise from your hotel beds and conquer your client floors. Those decks won't happen on their own
Has anyone made an exit as project manager in biotech? Considering a role but not sure if it’ll actually improve WLB or if I’ll just be herding cats all day.
Looking for an agency experienced freelance project manager. 7-10+ yrs. has solid experience with working closely with creative teams, understands creative lingo like “where the F* is the brief?” And “what are the specs?” You must know Monday like nobodies business. It’s what we use. You must love keeping people on task, on schedule & have a “figure it out” attitude. Lastly you must have a great attitude even in stressful times. A team player to be in trenches with us. Message directly.
Currently working at Accenture as a C (promoted Dec ‘19), but I know I ultimately want to make the jump over to Deloitte. I am on track to be promoted to M in the 2021 promo cycle and I know Deloitte would likely knock me down one level either way. Due to COVID-19, it seems like it doesn’t make sense to jump ship for at least another year while things get back to normal. Any thoughts on if it’s better to wait it out and leave after making M (but how long after?) or try to leave earlier? TIA
Hi. My mother is 73 yrs old and is here in NYC from Chennai. She’s not used to weather below 28 C. She’s been having muscle pain in legs and shoulder. Went to doc & they’re just saying it’s coz.. cont
Hi All, I need some suggestions. I am currently working in a Big 4 post my MBA from tier 2 IIM college as consultant but the work is pure PMO work which I am doing right now. I am completely confused about my career track and have no idea whether the PMO work will help me or not in long run. Not sure about the exit opportunities from this role? And what if I keep doing this pmo work, where will I land up? I wish to transit into a product manager or may be program manager role.
Got invited to interview at Google for a role on their global partnerships team, but realized that role requires less experience than I have and the title is Associate rather than Lead. I know (con’t)
I'm curious: Does your SO make more/less than you? And what's your gender? Like an option below (there are 6). Messed up earlier so repost.
What pays more at entry level, FAANG biz ops or MBB? What about at the next level (after 2 YOE or so)?
New to options so appreciate the help in advance- have bought call options OOM - earnings is tomorrow - currently would make profit if I sold- but expecting good news tomorrow that would raise the underlying price. Multiple people are saying you should sell before earnings because the options price may actually go down - can someone explain if this is accurate and why?
I’m applying this year for MBA (Fall 2021 start), but really want to shoot my shot for MBB before that, BCG specifically, because I can’t deal with all the EY BS anymore. Say I was actually able to get an offer, would I be blacklisted from BCG if I left for an MBA 6 months after being hired?
Going into last night I had a 10 point lead with DeAndre Hopkins to play and a flex (David Montgomery or Allen Robinson) and my boss had Taylor Lockett. Thought I had this on lock and then Lockett decides to go off for 50+ points. Now I'm down 20 points with an open flex spot for Montgomery or Robinson. Leaning towards Robinson since Montgomery hasn't had a good game since Week 2. Thoughts?
So I had my final interview yesterday in the industry (it was more so a 20 min convo with their CIO). Is it too early to follow up? I would never be pushy but I have another offer that I’m sitting on (as I would prefer the job that I interviewed for yesterday) so I need an answer asap
Been @ EY a month (frm PWC) as a sr. D wants to bring me in as a M (random LinkedIn post). What salary range should I expect? I said I need 150-175k. Realistic for 7yrs, 4yr consulting non target MBA?
I got reached out to about a VC role, but I had never considered VC before. I do Product Management Consulting, but I do have both an undergrad business education and product design experience. What books / articles / sources do you reccommend if I want to learn more about VC? If you have worked in VC, what thoughts or advice would you want to share? Thanks for any info or advice you can share!

Accenture 🐠 can I expect a pay raise after a transfer out of CD&O to C&M (Tech Consulting > Digital) ?
There’s a scene in the 3rd season of the west wing where josh is talking to Leo about wanting to go away on vacation to Tahiti with a woman he’s dating. Josh is reluctant to take time off, as a lot..
