Any advice for someone expecting to be promoted to tax senior this year? I'm nervous about a new role and was hoping anyone could share wisdom/important things they learned as a first year senior

I'm in my first year of senior and it hasn't been all too difficult. As mentioned you're probably already doing senior work. Just don't do to your staff what you hated your seniors doing to you, and be reasonable with your expectations.

Don't worry. People know your a first year senior and will adjust expectations accordingly (if they are reasonable, of course).

If you performed well in your staff years there is nothing to worry about. You are probably already doing senior work. Just make sure you have excellent time management skills because you'll need it

Not really. I was already working directly with managers and above as a Staff 2 on most of my projects, and I don't feel like their expectations of me changed much when I became a senior. Just maintain good relationships with them and you'll be fine.

Second year senior here. It will get worse before it gets better. Then it will get worse again.

Does it get tougher to deal with those above you?
